I watched Oregon/Stanford last night but apparently he played OK.
He was OK in the SD save for a costly pick 6. He was awful in the Denver game. He was a stat whore early in the year. It has been a bad season for a guy that was crowned by ESPN. People were saying that he was Drew Brees with legs. Yeah right!
He is not a very good passer. Most of his non dump off completions are on play action. He just can't drop back and consistently beat you with throws. He's not that good. A lot of people bought his hype last year so they make every excuse for him.Comment -
I like Cousins, he throws a nice ball but I will guarantee he will spend his career on at least 4 different teams by the time its all said and done. He will always be that solid qb who teams never accept as their "franchise guy", they should trade him while is stock is still high. And while he is smooth in his progressions, he makes some bonehead throws which may or may not change with more experienceComment -
You are probably right as far as being a solid backup.
Thing is as long as the Redskins have Rg3 they will need a solid backup. 2 torn ACL's in 4 years, odds are he gets hurt again in the future. So if the Redskins dump him, who is their backup? What will they get for Cousins, a 3rd rounder?
I'd probably rather trade Cousins for a 3rd rounder while his stock is high, invest the pick into defense, you can get a solid Safety or ILB and if RG3 gets hurt then you lose a lot of games and get better picks later. All or nothing.Comment -

I might trade him if they could get a lot of picks. He's better than average when healthy, average like he is now. Skins a hooo bunch on defense. So trading him to get let's say a 1,2 and a 3rd rounder this year and a 2nd next year to a Minn, Raiders, Hou type team then ok. Not sure they could get a 1, pair of 2;s and a 3 but if they can they should. Cant win with that D even with Chuck Norris as QB.Comment -
3rd round picks don't always turn into super stars, but you can get a very good ILB or Safety, which the Redskins need exactly. They could also get a very good Shannihan style interior lineman because he is looking for different types of players. Solid contribute, but no super star.
Griffen will get hurt again that is a fact. But is it worth having a "decent team"? Might be better off letting it ride and either trying to go to the playoffs or get a better draft pick.Comment -
It is not really about white qbs. There are a lot of crappy white qb's also. It's mostly about the top 5 to 7 qb's in the league with maybe a Brad Johnson, Trent Dilfer or Joe Flacco sneaking in there every 5 or so years. The rests of the times it is the Aikmans, Youngs, Favres, Brady's, Mannings, Rodgers, Warners, Roethlisburgers, Breess. These are HOF guys. None of the black QB's in the NFL today are even solidly in the top 10 at their position and I would argue none of them are.Comment -
