IS Max Scherzer a lock to win the AL Cy Young?
17-1 right now and no doubt he will reach 20 wins. 2nd behind Darvish in K's in the AL. His 2.84 ERA is a bit on the high side compared to the other elite pitchers however his WHIP at 0.90 is very solid. Unless King Felix puts up stellar numbers the rest of the way and Scherzer starts struggling Scherzer is the clear winner here.

Yes he is. Nothing wrong with a 2.84 ERA when you consider his K/BB ratio. That said, Felix is still the better pitcher and has the better Sabremetric numbers, but Cy Young has to go to the 17-1 guy with good supporting stats.

It is a lock. Wish I would just get paid now. Took it when it was 3/2 odds

Probably; altough he shouldn't have it so in the bag seeing how close other pitchers are to him, but the voters still love to evaluate a pitcher based on how well his teams offense performs.

Man I'm glad sabremetric guys don't decide the year end awards. Guys like Jhoulys Chacin would be in Cy Young contention

Did you forget about Harvey? Even though it is Kershaws race to lose at the moment.

Harvey has 9 wins and it would behoove the Mets to watch his innings. Kershaw isn't a lock. Wainwright, Corbin, Harvey, Minor, Kimbrel are in contention.

kershaw keeps that era low like he is i think he wins, his losses are a little high. if corbin goes on a tear i think that is the only competition.
