Bud Selig is a piece of trash, he thinks he is a damn czar of baseball. I'm no A-Rod fan to say the least but still, fine him heavily and suspend him but stop this bullshitt about ban for life. Lets talk about Bud Selig's interest free loans from the Minnesota twins owner who happens to be in the banking business. Oh! Thats ok, do as I say not as I do. Sellig is a hypocritical piece of shitt.
Bud Selig and a company controlled by Minnesota Twins owner Carl Pohlad arranged for a $3 million loan to the Milwaukee Brewers in 1995, a deal being called a possible violation of baseball rules.
Former commissioners Bowie Kuhn, Peter Ueberroth and Fay Vincent said yesterday that the loan was unprecedented and might have broken the rules. Former players' association head Marvin Miller said it was a clear violation, although Selig's lawyer said there was nothing improper about the loan.
Selig was president and chief executive officer of the Brewers at the time, as well as baseball's acting commissioner.
Selig, elected commissioner in July 1998, is behind the plan to eliminate two teams before next season, most likely the Twins and Montreal Expos. Pohlad could receive more in a contraction buyout than he would if he sold the franchise.
The loan was made by Tempus Investment Corp., one of Pohlad's companies.
Selig personally put up a minimum of $795,000 of money-market funds as collateral.
The contraction plan has been stalled by an injunction issued by a Minnesota judge, an order Selig and the Twins have asked the Minnesota Court of Appeals to overturn.

braun and arod are two completely different scenarios
"It is believed by baseball, at least, that (A-Rod) actively obstructed this investigation," said ESPN investigative reporter T.J. Quinn, who first reported the story in February. "They have looked into charges that he tampered with witnesses, that he tried to get documents, possibly have them destroyed. If they've got the evidence to back that up, that adds a whole other element to this case."

Arod cheated like the rest of MLB. Only way I see worse than Braun is if he tampered with evidence. Alex never tested positive.

He was never suspended but allegedly tested positive I guess in 03. You have to look at it the legal way. Time will tell. They won't release evidence much like Braun case I suppose.

Alex Rodriguez met head-on allegations that he tested positive for steroids six years ago, telling ESPN on Monday that he did take performance-enhancing drugs while playing for the Texas Rangers during a three-year period beginning in 2001.

Technically, it's not enough for MLB either - based on the CBA.
This is going to be a legal battle, but by the time the courts rule that Selig abused his powers under the "Just Cause" clause of the CBA, AROD wont have a career to come back to.

if MLB does try to suspend A-Rod for life, there is a good chance it will completely blow up in its face.First of all, a lifetime ban requires three violations and Rodriguez has no previous suspensions. And no matter how much evidence MLB has there is a big risk that an arbitrator will reduce or overturn the suspension without any previous violations. That would be another crushing defeat in the fight on steroids considering how much effort baseball has put into punishing Rodriguez. But more importantly, a lifetime ban takes the risk of making A-Rod a sympathetic figure in the eyes of baseball fans. If Rodriguez can convince the fans that he just wants to play baseball and is being punished unjustly, it could end up being yet another public relations nightmare for Bud Selig, whose reign has included many. to be continue...
