Former Giants closer Brian Wilson auditioned for a group of scouts Thursday in Los Angeles as he works his way back from his second Tommy John surgery.
"He looked good," one scout told CBS Sports' Danny Knobler. "His fastball was 90-93 mph. [He's] not far away."
Knobler reports that representatives from the Giants, A's, Pirates, Diamondbacks, Phillies, Rangers, Rockies and Cardinals watched Wilson, who hasn't been on a big-league mound in 15 months.
In his second appearance of the 2012 season, Wilson recorded a save in Colorado but had to go under the knife soon after. He has a 3.21 ERA, 171 saves and 340 strikeouts in 320 innings in seven MLB seasons, all with the Giants.

i live in hawaii and have seen him throw every week for around the last month with dallas braden. I also personally know one of the therapist that he has been working with at "sports medicine hawaii", on the gun he has been sitting at around 91-92 mph. He seems to have good control right now but his secondary pitches have not looked extremly good. Also when it comes to teams, when i was talking the therapist and the guys that he has been working with in hawaii they have been telling me that wilson is only going to sign with a winning team. The other month he had an offer from a losing team and he imeedietaly tured it down. They told me that as of this past weekend his front runner was det. If there was a prop bet for this i would go with det. Hope this helps

I think the Tigers could really use him. They should win the division fairly easily and can ease him into the roll.

Pretty big risk for a team in contention to throw him in at this point.

Dodgers officially announce they have signed Brian Wilson. It's a major-league deal.

                                      Smart move by the Dodgers.
Make him work his way back through the minors, if he doesn't get it done, cut ties with him.
