I have a really bad feeling -- and I'm hoping I'm wrong -- that something happened with his son. Last we heard, his son had been sick and he was going to take a leave from the board. I don't think we've heard from him since. I've been hoping he'd check in, if for no other reason than to clarify why he stopped posting overnight. I sincerely hope it was just because he needed to get away from it, and not due to serious family/medical issues.

If he quit because he just wanted to stop posting, fine. In fact, great. I know he had mentioned posting was taking time away from his family, and he wasn't sure if he was going to continue. For how abruptly it ended, and the fact that he hasn't posted a single time since, makes me wonder -- and worry -- that something bad happened in the "real world."

I have a young son. Yes, I'm serious. When you hear something like that happens to someone else and you're in a similar spot in your life family-wise, you can't help but think about it -- because it can happen to any one of us at any time, and it's a parent's worst nightmare.
