#37Again, Darvish threw 111 pitches in an early-April start. Look up how many guys have done that in the past decade or so and get back to me. Add the fact that he was one out away from a perfect game, and a physical/mental letdown would be understandable tonight -- especially given LAA's lineup.
And BTW, Darvish pitched on Tuesday -- not Sunday. He's had the regular four days off.Comment -

Anyway I took one look at one game today and found this.........

#39Darvish is used to high pitch counts, so I wouldn't completely rule out his ability to step up tonight and do well, but when you combine the context of his last start and remember the reason for the high pitch count, a letdown isn't so far fetched. There's a reason it's a good idea to fade pitchers coming back from perfect games, and while Darvish didn't get it, he was so close.Comment -

#45Might have to fade the Cards and Tribe in their home openers. Mets are intriguing as well; Harvey's one of the best young arms in the game, and Halladay is laboring. Not sure if I can trust them on the road in this spot, though.Comment -

#52Wow you mean this guy didn't wrap up the Cy Young by beating the Astros in Game 1? LoL. Typical Darvish now against a real lineup. Will walk quite a few and still K a few.Comment -

#57Did anyone really think Hamilton would have a good series? Probably more pressure on him in this series than at any time all year. Guy let the fans get in his head in Game 1 with the boos and some of them [probably Opie] started talking shit to the wife and kids. Jesus can't win every AB. Guy should be thankful he gets this out of the way early. I'd expect Pujols to carry this club and anything Hamilton gives them is gravy. Pujols is probably the happiest guy in Cali.
