While I agree with Westie being an amazing talent he is not as big a loss as some would believe. He is selfish, and when he goes off and has a huge game they are more likely to lose than to win. You put
Paul on this team and they compete with Miami on even footing.
Will they be a different team? No doubt. Can they win the West? Yes they can and most likely will, in my opinion.

And you think that bet pays off in the long run? I am not sure how. You are pinning yourself down to a specific result and paying way too much juice to make money long term.
I get the logic, but my friend the math doesn't work for you on a bet of this type.
You need to isolate a winner or a side and maximize it, not hedge yourself in. I like finding a nice edge and then betting the result two or three different ways.....then you can make yourself some money!Comment -

Just a word to the wise, smoking can lead to health problems later in life, late-onset diabetes and worse.
Of course, from your avatar it looks like you have a mad-cool way of lighting those cigarettes, and I can easily understand why you wouldn't want to give up a trademark move like that.
Perhaps you should try either of these two methods, each of which was used by a world-famous celebrity to good effect: 1) Ditch them after only a few drags (Frank Sinatra) or 2) Don't Inhale (Bill Clinton)
I don't know if that's you in the photo or not, but what brand are those in the picture, anyway? Parliaments? Benson-Hedges? I'm asking 'cuz once in a great while I buy a pack and I think that's the brand I'd like to go with, that dude in the photo is riveting.

Ok, if anyone is up or listening I think it best to lay off on the soccer game. ** was not dominant in that half and I feel like they MAY just sit on this one goal lead. We are now in a no lose situation, but the most we can make is $10. I don't want to risk the loss, even if it would be a small one.
Also, looks as though the tennis match is under a rain delay.....

Nice! I will watch every step....but serious question here Pauly, as you are a vet and should know this....who would you consider to be the top 5 long term posters that post all of their plays and keep track of everything? Have their been any amazing guys that stopped posting at some point?

Ok, good to know....the thread seems remarkably clear of trolls and hopefully will stay that way. I hope I can keep posting to everyone's 'standards and rules' and keep putting some ching in people's pockets. As far as I know I haven't yet broken any of the rules, and in fact when I have posted some plays late I haven't ever counted them in my stats.

The Nastase Exemption

Well, naturally. How can a gambler's site tolerate winners who give away their plays? It totally fries the business model.
Take heart, however, in the story of Ille Nastase, the legendary Romanian tennis player who was World # 1 for a couple years in the early 70's.
Since the Iron Curtain was firmly in place at the time, highly talented Romanians had two unappealing alternatives: 1) Remain in the frozen Soviet bloc, and enjoy the modest celebrity of a prominent person in a (nearly) third-world country. Or 2) Defect to the west, with the knowledge that the family you left behind might be persecuted, and the understanding that you could never again visit your siblings, parents, and childhood friends.
Alone among prominent Romanians of that era, Nastase, however, found a third way (I know this because I frequently sat next to the 20-something son of Ille and his French super-model wife in a NLHE game on Second Avenue that we both liked and he told me all about it): Ille was allowed to move to the west (Hollywood or New York or Paris or all three) and yet he was still totally welcome to return to visit Bucharest, hang out with the Prime Minister and the King and play exhibition matches and drink free in every night-club, and then leave after a week or two and return to the Free World.
I hereby propose a similar exemption here at SBR Forum for D2D.

Lol....quietly....ok, shhhh!
But how boring!!!! I don't know if many people are actually reading anything I post. I don't get mentioned very often and don't hear my name mentioned in POTM commentary.....I do sort of stick to my own thread I guess....takes up enough of my free time.
I will say one thing.....since I started posting I have developed an even greater sense of urgency when it comes to continuing the journey upwards. There is no question that knowing some people are tailing gives me a greater focus.
The one thing I know for sure is I am quickly becoming addicted to this site.Comment -

Just saw your kind shout-out to me D2D, thanks a million.
Allow me an air of mystery about my origins for a few days, after that I'll be more forthcoming about my history than a shamed tele-evangelist doing his Oprah appearance, if you're still curious.
After all, the web is supposed to be like the American west of the mid-nineteenth century, the place to go when you need to re-invent yourself.
Believe me, if you'd been stuck listening to the internal monologue going on in my head these past several decades (much of it makes the exchanges on this thread look like Newton and Einstein discussing science, my inner voice can be incredibly juvenile) you'd want to re-invent yourself too.
