Are the St. Louis Cardinals the best run organization in all of sports?

The Cards are a machine. They own St. Louis and everybody there loves them. They groom guys and fill people in. Pujols wants the big bucks and they don't overpay, they let him walk and Molina steps up to have an MVP type year. Allen Craig fills in nicely. They have prospects. They always have people step up. They are rich in tradition. The Yanks suffer some injuries and they need to call up retired bums like Derek Lee. The Cards have studs like Oscar Tavaras just waiting to come into the league and have an impact.

The NFL has a few teams that are run well but no clear cut winner.

The NBA has maybe the Spurs as the best run organization.

In baseball it has to be St Louis and they are probably the best run team in sports right now.

Nationals and Rays are decent too. But yea the Cardinals have the rings to prove it.....they are probably the best. Late '90's and in the 2000's Minnesota was pretty impressive too.

I agree the Minnesota Twins used to be in this status a decade ago
The Braves were also very well run for years
Rays have done well building up but let's see how long it lasts
Steelers are one of the best in NFL but can you say they are run better than the Ravens/Giants/Patriots/Packers?

So if the Rays had the money to keep Carl Crawford and that 1b who hits a HR or strikes out they'd win it all? The good players in MLB are obvious. They can find quirky guys and use the charts to play mad scientist and win match ups but it's different to win it all. During the grind of the regular season they can on average win lots of games by beating crappy teams but it's a lot harder in the playoffs and they'd still need guys to play for below market value while signing some of their guys.

I think Giants are definitely turning into a well run team but have no where near the history St. Louis has. St. Louis has always been good to the fans too, and I think most fans will agree in retrospect it was the right move letting Pujols walk.
