Wes Welker to be a Bronco?
Wes Welker “very likely” to land with Denver

Here’s yet another indication that the Broncos could be serious about adding Wes Welker.
Greg Bedard of the Boston Globe reported Wednesday that Welker was “very likely” to sign with Denver, according to an unnamed league source the veteran NFL writer quoted.
The 31-year-old Welker hauled in 118 passes for 1,354 yards and six touchdowns in 2012 for New England. His addition to the Broncos’ offense would strengthen an already exceptional passing game led by future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning.

Im sure Peyton would love this.

Keep low-balling him, I say. Take it or leave it. Butter fingers lost all his negotiating leverage when he lost the super bowl for them, and followed it up with a few drops that probably cost the game against the Ravens this past playoffs as well.

Broncos better off getting Darrelle Revis or ED Reed. Their offense is good enough.

In all seriousness, is Bill Belichick so arrogant that he believes he can win with Julian Edelman and Matthew Slater as his starting WR's.

                              Vikings will be weak. Frikk

Bronco's have officially easiest schedule in NFL next year. So another year of how awesome they are while they beat bad team after bad team.

Hopefully the new KC will give them a run this year.

Crafty, intelligent white guys don't age well in the NFL.

I expect him to have 32 catches, tops.

                                      Motherfukker merged this thread.

This was the "OFFICIAL Welker is now a bronco" thread. Bcats' thread was discussing "what-if" scenarios.

Somebody may well end up getting an ass whipping over this.....

So that's where Dumervil paycut money wentOffensively for the Broncos, Yikes. Stokely did a great job in Denver for cheap in the slot, but Welker is a nightmarish upgrade for the AFC.

Pats deserved to lose him if they couldn't beat that offer... Integral part to their offense, and some bums make more than that each year

Don't think Pats had any real intention of resigning him. They'll replace him with Amendola and/or Edelman. I'd make a big offer to Cruz and give up the 1st round pick to Giants. Once Cassell gets cut by Chiefs he goes back to Pats as a low price backup and they deal Mallett for some mid level picks. AFC East is a joke. Just get to the playoffs and anything can happen. They need to sign Pollard to keep him from injuring any more of their guys and either lock up Talib or sign Williams along with some big bodies to lighten Wilfork's workload.

Patriots low balled a guy who is the best offensive weapon besides brady.

Maybe patriots thought that he cant find other team.

The thing with wes is that he is injury free. Guy hasnt missed a regular season game in 6 years. This even after taking so many hits and producing 100 catch season every year.

Patriots fukked up big time here....this is the downfall of patriots. Almost impossible to replace the production and durability of welker.

(Getty Images)</figcaption></figure>The Patriot Way may have backfired for Wes Welker, who inked a two-year, $12 million contract with the Broncos Tuesday, but it meant New England got a similar player for roughly the same price, but who also happens to be almost five years younger. Former Rams wide receiver Danny Amendola has agreed to a five-year deal worth $31 million, with $10 million guaranteed, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

In 11 games last season, Amendola had 63 catches for 666 yards and three touchdowns. (Welker's numbers, by comparison: 118 catches, 1,354 yards, 6 touchdowns).
Amendola, who, like Welker, played at Texas Tech, didn't grade out particularly well inFootball Outsiders' wide receiver rankings (he was 68th in total value, Welker was 30th), but for some perspective, consider this: Welker ranked 50th in total value in 2006, the season before he ended up in New England; in 2007, he was 11th.
No one would be shocked if Amendola's career followed a similar path.

Bradys Response Spoke to someone close to Tom Brady. Beyond enraged at contract details that netted Broncos Wes Welker. "Disgrace" "disservice" were used.
