Did it work on Winfield? No. Has it ever worked specifically for PED's? No.

Will his contract get voided? -1000000000000 No.

Yankee fans had hardons when he got resigned now cant wait to get rid of him. They didnt even care about the PED rumors because ARoid was performing. Freaking hypocrites.

Face it Yank fans your stuck with A Roid and the remaining $100 million contract.

Players union would never allow it. Best bet to do it would have been the last time he admitted to using

          It's not going to happen.

Although it's quite funny to compare the hysteria around Arod and the blah reaction to Ray Lewis this week.

Yankees tried to void contract. Years ago

Players union will not allow even though a roid is a criminal substance abuser

Yankees' Alex Rodriguez thinks his team and Major League Baseball are out to get him after recent PED scandal: sources

A-Rod’s concerns intensified as agents from MLB’s Department of Investigations met in Miami Monday with editors of Miami New Times. The source added that Rodriguez is wondering if the Yankees or even Major League Baseball are behind the latest controversy.

Alex Rodriguez is taking his wildest swing yet in his fight against steroid allegations: The Yankees and MLB are conspiring to push him out of the game.

Sources say the embattled Yankee star is “scared” that bigger forces are at work to try to discredit him and sink his career. Holed up in Miami, Rodriguez has been huddling with an army of lawyers and PR people as the performance-enhancing drug scandal enveloping him intensifies.

“He’s scared, because he thinks this is so unbelievably false, and he’s wondering who could be behind this,” said a source, referring to last week’s Miami New Times report linking A-Rod to an alleged Miami-area performance-enhancing drug scandal. “He thinks something could be going on larger than anyone might think.”

The source added that Rodriguez is wondering if the Yankees or even Major League Baseball are behind the latest controversy.

A-Rod’s concerns intensified as agents from MLB’s Department of Investigations met in Miami Monday with editors of Miami New Times, a weekly newspaper that posted hand-written records and files last Tuesday linking Rodriguez and several other players to Anthony Bosch, a self-described “biochemist” who is being investigated by baseball and federal authorities for possibly providing performance-enhancing drugs to the players.

Never sign anyone long term no matter how well they performed the year before...those contracts never live to expectations. Just let those players walk. Yankees are so dumb.

That contract is written and signed in blood, never happended.
Plus, the players union is like the NRA, can't be beat.

NYY best bet is to offer a buy out to A-Rod, say .75 on the dollar, but A-Rod is such a nudge, he'd say "Why settle for 75 cents on the dollar, I'll ride out the rest of my contract for full price.

NYY are stuck, and idiot Steinbrenner Junior is to blame. Not the agent, not Cashman, not the union, the buck stops at Steinbrenner Junior, nobody told him to bid against himself.

If daddy was alive, he'd kick his ass.

Not necessarily. If he lied to team doctors, there could be a court battle to void the contract.

Ultimately the easiest and most likely way is Arod is too hurt to ever play again. He gets paid, Yankees get 85% back from insurance, everyone walks away happy. Except the insurance company.

Teams very rarely sign these long term deals expecting excellent performance every year. Teams sign them (for example pujols, fielder 10 year contracts) expecting the next 5 years will be excellent and then decline. That is why so many are heavily backloaded. They backload them to keep some cash now to sign other talent to win (buy) a WS or 2 and then settle with mediocre stats for the rest of the contract with hopes of rebuilding thru drafts and trades.

Arods extension was a bit crazy and I think he will be a lesson to all. But look for players in their late 20s to still get these kind of deals.
