I'm a huge ND homer, and USC has a chance. I think ND will win, but it may not be a cake-walk, I mean USC is better than Pitt.
IF KSU and Oregon both don't lose, ND doesn't stand a chance, and its a joke. Anybody realize how the big10 is usually opposite of ND, thats cause if ND is bad, big10 gets inflated win totals. They are not that bad this year.

4. Notre Dame will have an automatic berth if it is in the top eight of the final BCS Standings.

Alabama vs Notre Dame would be great for TV ratings. i am not a fan of either team but this would be like

I don't think anybody wants to see Oregon in the National title. They have played a cupcake schedule. Sure they win by 100 points but who cares they have played nobody.

I personally can't stand Notre Dame, but they have played without a doubt the hardest schedule in the country. I don't see how you could keep them out of the title game if they go undefeated.

How would Kansas State be more deserving? Notre Dame beat Oklahoma at Oklahoma too. and they played Pac 12 and Big 10 schools as well.

You're spot on as far as the politics involved. Much like the conference expansions, its all about the $$ and media markets.

With USC out of the picture, hurts Oregon's chances because the PAC 12 base aren't going to pay attention the way a Big 12 or SEC fan base does with its members.

I can see a Notre Dame getting in over K State due to the powers that be if both ended undefeated, which neither will. This is going to open the door to another insane controversy in a few weeks if UGA wins out the loses to Bama in Atlanta, after a K State and Notre Dame loss....the Gators will be sitting right there again after defeating a rising Seminoles team in the last week.....Gators and Bama for the title in Miami
