the thought is that when youre the home team you have to guard against a big inning as much as you do the one run

i dont prescribe to that school of thought

its just like leaving your closer in the pen to try to hold him for a save situation...of course when your closer is valverde youre best leaving him at the hotel

I'd imagine when he fell behind in the account it was supposed to be a pitch around. Coke just missed his location and Scutaro, who has a great eye, made them pay.

Let's get serious, you aren't going to IBB Scutaro with one out to face Sandoval. While Panda isn't the fastest guy, he can make contact on a hit and run and stay out of the double play.

            God bless.

hard to say... hindsight is 50/50

better question: why did Det find themselves down 0-3

                  Right, doesn't matter.

If they walked Scutaro to face Panda you'd ask the same question if he got a hit.

You'd rather face the MVP of the series with two on than face Scutaro with first open?

                        Options were:

                        1) pitch to the ncls mvp
                        2) walk the ncls mvp and pitch to the now ws mvp
                        3) walk the ws mvp and load the bases For the likely NL mvp.

                        Tough decision
