can't tell you how many Yankees fans I've met where this has happened:

Nope. Enough.

I was born and raised in NY and blame this debacle on Girardi. Even if it's true that Cashman was calling the shots, a player's mgr should know a guy has a pitcher's # and go to bat for him (pardon the pun). No excuse benching A-Rod vs Verlander.

True. After a slow start they had some great late inning hitting all year. I'm not a fan of the inequality in payroll so I take it out on pulling against them. Wish my Astros could have a year like that instead of basically being a farm team.

History has already showed that payroll has nothing to do with winning championships....Also the most small market teams get plenty of money through revenue sharing but choose not to spend it. Blame/hate them....not the Yankees that generate a lot of revenue.

New York Yankee's offseason should be put on Pay Per View! The entire franchise will change.

I don't believe that's true. If the Knicks got to sign every good player in the NBA the Spurs would not have 4 titles and probably wouldn't have one. There needs to be a salary cap like every other sports league has and that includes a tight minimum payroll.

Ok I mean in the history of baseball....it seems to be working fine. Small market teams have won and are doing ok...and of course that is with the help of revenue sharing.

How about a rule that says every team spends a minimum of $90 million and a maximum of a $110 million? And may the best team win? It pisses me off just as much that my Astros are cheap basstards and have a payroll less than 1/3 of the yankees.

Sbr john and others, you do realize that the astros and other top 15 biggest market teams will no longer get revenue sharing starting in 2016?
if you think they suck now, just wait until you see the colt 45s in 2016

Pretty sure Yankee fans have 27 reasons not to feel too bad about watching the WS from home this year.
