Just accepted a graduate assistant coaching position for football at a university, that starts in January, which means NO GAMBLING ALLOWED per NCAA rules

So I am moving back to Texas to work for my dad for a few months until January which I begin grad school and my new position

As far as people who always say they want to move here to Las Vegas, I personally do not recommend it unless you are extremely financially stable, and by stable I mean either you have a steady, decent income or at least $50,000 in the bank. Because trust me, you aren't going to come here and make money off of betting on sports. In my year here I probably won slightly more than I lost, which is break even at best. And I lived a very economically conservative lifestyle(never spent money on anything except the necessities) and had a full time job.

Making money off of betting on sports is a pipe dream at best. You are better off having a job and just betting on sports as a side hobby.

Apart from betting on sports there is nothing for me here that I can't do elsewhere. Las Vegas is a very boring place to live if you are not into all that nightlife stuff.

It's +EV, you're just not working the system. I had a gourmet lunch today for $8, then got free drinks and spent the day lounging around in an awesome pool.
Yesterday, I saw a movie for $5 in a theatre with stadium seats, in one of the cleanest, emptiest theaters in America.
Monday, I went to a pack room filled with crazy NFL fans, won $60, and I could've bowled all night for $5.

Yeah, it's hot. Yeah, there's lots of degenerates. Yeah, there's idiots who can't control their bankroll.
But Las Vegas is one of the best times I've had in my life. Viva Las Vegas!

Sunset Station has $1 midnight bowling and Fiesta Henderson has one of the nicest theaters in US for $5.

I stayed at the Fiesta for a few days last year, movie theater was very nice. Was going to make my way to Texas because I knew they had cheap bowling, but looks like Sunset will be a stop next time.
