As a PHI fan I love this trade. A 2nd round pick and Rogers-Cromartie in return.

Kolb has talent and should help ARI, but I can't help but wonder if he'll turn out like AJ Feeley. PHI got a 2nd round pick for him from MIA and then he eventually found his way back to PHI as a productive backup. Will history repeat itself? I don't think so, but it's entirely possible.

I've been saying it all along... Eagles will be a tough team to beat this season... Now all they need is to make Desean Jackson Happy with a new Contract.

Vince Young is signing with Philly. Kafka will be #3. Interesting pickup on Young if the rumors play out. Gives them another toy for their offense, I like it and the trade obviously was a win-win. Good luck to Kolb, better luck to Cromartie - should be a great DB opposite Asante!

PHI obviously need a competent backup, but I'm NOT a VY fan whatsoever. Below average football IQ and loose screws in the head. Not to mention he doesn't know the WCO at all.
Let's just hope that Vick doesn't get hurt.

Philly always gets the better end of the trades when they trade QB's

Kind of reminds you exactly of Vick when he came to Philly in that sense. Everyone said Jesus, I hope McNabb doesn't get hurt and look where we are now. I don't expect a great reclamation project like they got with Vick, but if there is a place where Young might "get it" - I think this is the place for him. Pretty low risk I think. If he shows no maturity, cut the bitch and bring in a competent replacement.

I agree it's low risk to get VY. He's not being counted on to be the leader which suits him much better. I trust whoever they bring in will be in good hands thanks to the coaching staff.

They also gave him a big badass contract which I don't think was necessary. I'm guessing Kolb and his agent put the screws to ARI which held up the trade announcement. Based on what they gave up they think he's a slam dunk franchise QB. I have my doubts...and PHI came away with a great return.

yea they did but remember alot of teams wanted kolb. no one was begging for drc. supply/demand
on a side note i think kolb will be killer in fantasy, in that division with no defense.

I agree completely, especially since they have VY now to back up Vick.

It's either win-win or Philly came out ahead. This reminds me a bit of AJ Feely. I think Kolb would do better throwing to former Cardinals Breaston and Boldin. He's more about timing and accuracy than airing it out and letting LJ play jump-ball.
I don't think Philly will take Vince Young or Brett Favre. Kafka is almost a Kolb clone, Philly coaches love him and I think that had a lot to do with Kolb's exit. If they do pick up a number two it will be some old journeyman to mentor to Kafka so he can start in a few years or be trade bait, not mimic Vick.

Is the Kolb acquisition really enough for ARI to retain Larry Fitzgerald at the end of the '11 season? We'll see in time, but I highly doubt this.

Kolb is a fighter. It's a great deal for Arizona.
I can see Kolb picking apart that Dallas secondary right now.
