With a ton of draft picks next year, they will be a super bowl contender from 2013 onwards. Until then, all patriot fans should get used to not winning anything .

In next years draft, they wiki own. All patriots fans should be rooting for the raiders to lose every game this year so that the pats will have the #1 pick.

The Pats got the steal of last year's draft by getting Aaron Hernandez in the 4th round. He'll be a great weapon for years.

Incorrect. The Pats went 18-1 that year, which included a couple playoff wins. I think you meant to say that the Pats haven't won a Super Bowl since the incident, but neither have 27 other teams.
You are beating a dead horse with the spygate stuff. It reflects Belichicks ethics and arrogance regarding league politics, but it was not a significant strategic advantage. This is well established and is now a dead issue.

Tom Brady might retire by then. Then there's basically no chance.

A crappy Patriots team is better than most NFL teams.

mmmmm... no!
it IS an issue.. ESPECIALLY since they cannot win now... had they WON 1 or 2 more, then you say "they didn't need to cheat to win"
my 2 cents..

Review the history.
Spygate broke after September 9th, 2007 when the Pats were accused by the Jets of videotaping the signals during their game.
The Pats finished the 2007 season 18-1 and 2-1 in the playoffs.
I'd say they did just fine by normal NFL team standards.
The Pats "decline" in subsequent years had more to do with turning over an aging defense, which was always their hallmark.

Yeah but Slacker, you gotta just love it when the Evil Empire doesn't get back in it for any reason, and in 2007 defeated by another evil east-coast, large-market "New Yawk" team.
God bless the Cheeseheads: the team of middle America, the only team owned by the public vice some greed-head "owners."

No, I'm not a Pats fan at all. I just try to give proper respect when respect is due.
The majority of teams would love to have the Pats' record since 2007, that's my point.

This spygate derail is getting a little out of hand... but the Pats went from being unstoppable to being .500 in the playoffs after that bomb dropped. If Bellicheat doesn't win another one, his legacy will be tarnished.
As for 2013, even if they get there they will lose to the veteran Eagles and their awesome '10 draft class.
Walter forgot... when you're desperate's when you got no choice.

Patriots should draft all defense men in the first 4 rounds (8 picks) and solidify their defense.

I can see the Patriots being really good then. But as a Pats i'd prefer them to win it before then lol. Next year should be an interesting one with the draft picks and some guys on the defensive side have more experience under there belts. Hopefully there is not lockout in the NFL. It would be a huge blow to the fan base.

The Pats are going to be contenders at least until Brady retires. He's still got 3-6 quality years left in him. Last year concerned me some, but I think it's more related to the talent around him and a D that still needs better leadership. I have a feeling with the amount of free agents available, the Pats could be poised for another legit run. They need some more playmakers and quite a few are going to be available - not to mention the amount of young players they are developing. Definitly a unique position to be in.

one thing about pats and the draft that always holds true: bill has a list of 20-25 guys he wants, if they are available he takes them, if not he trades pick. he'll even trade up or down to get the guy he wants at the best draft slot possible. the general consensus is they will go de/lb/ol/rb in draft, but you can never be sure with him.

irelivent stats show the #1 pick is as likley to be sucsesfull as the #76 and you have to pay the #1 rediculus moneythats why the pats alwase trade down for more picks i hope the raders do go winless the pats will get the #1 pick and trade it for 3 3rd round picks.
