The 49ers can't put up points without their run game and Gore has not been great so far this year.. 49ers ground game is 27th in the league while Atlanta's run defense is 12th in the league.. Gore is averaging under 4 yards a carry and has only found the end zone once on the ground.. If the 49ers find their run game tomorrow then yes +7 is the play but you can't count on that happening.. Atlanta can score and Atlanta will score against a middle of the pack defense and an inferior team that has allowed 28 points a game.. Good luck with whatever you choose but this is not a spot to get cute so early in the season and lose money on.. The 49ers are not who everyone thought they were going to be

I like this play. Raye wasn't the problem, but his termination should open Singletary's eyes to a modern way of things. I think 'Frisco utilizes their fire power and puts up points like they're should have all along. Nonetheless, I have the over in a parlay.

Coach Singletary is way too stubborn to move from his 3 yards and a cloud of dust offense, and he has stated this in his weekly interviews on the local talk shows. They are going to keep the same mentality, but execute it better... whatever that means. It is such a mess, seriously, you need to listen to the guy, he really believes that through will power alone he can change this team. :/

I would sooner trust Alex Smith to carry my baby with his tiny midget hands then bet on them on the road, I think the score is going to look awfully similar to last year's total.

Personally, and although i am a fan of the falcons, I see them at -6.5 as the play here. People are arguing that the desperation of the 49ers and the possibly let down from the falcons is the most likely situation here but I don't see it. 49ers have looked absolutely awful, the falcons have looks great, very 'great' if i can say that. Falcons defense has been greatly improved and I'm very impressed with what they are doing. They are tied for most INT in the league with 6, coming from 6 different players. It's been a total team effort and I expect to see more of that at home, where they have been solid for the past 2 years. People say the falcons will let down, but I can't imagine with both Tampa and NO tied at 2-1. They want the lead, and they need the win just as much as if it were the other two opponents. 49ers will be playing 1:00 pm as if it were 10:00am for them, not to mention the dome which will hurt them. I see a big falcons win tonight. They are the real deal.

falcons -6.5 risk 3 u to win 2.8u

edit: the 49ers are using two first round picks as tackles, and I see Abraham having a MONSTER day with them, getting multiple sacks on the day.

He's the dumbest coach in the league by a long shot. He thinks the NFL is a power meet when in reality it's more of a chess match. If he wasn't Rooney Rule and a favorite former NFL player then there would be more public support to kick his ass to the curb.

Mike Singeltary needs to be a linebackers coach yelling at people and getting in their face, he's a horrible HORRIBLE head coach. Don't give me this crap about talent either. He has the most talented team in his division and they are in dead last place.

there are probably maybe 5 or 6 good coaches in the nfl and the worst by far is childress followed closly by mccarthy and lovie smith

Mccarthy??? psyche...hes drafted and developed most of the packers team, and last time i checked, the packers are pretty fvcking good. But I'd say by your worst coaches list that youre a lions fan

Lots of factors going against the 49ers this week. East coast away game, new offensive coordinator, pumped up Falcons team, just to name a few. I would take them at +8, but +7 is tough.

Yep, I agree completely. He really puts zero stock into that "darn chess match crap." I think he needs to either go back to position coaching or take his act to college, where he can yell scream and spray spittle all over scholar athletes.

He might not be the worst coach, because he can at least motivate players, but he has to be bottom of the barrel when it comes to xs and os.

This seems like a terrible spot for the Niners.

1. Long travel
2. Game is 10:00 am pacific
3. 3rd roadie in 4 weeks
4. Niners seemed to be over valued this yr as their 17 point per game defense last yr appears to be an anomoly and they will most likely regress back to the low to mid 20's. If not for early season Niner bias, line would probably be -8.
5. Niners are losing the turnover battles.
6. Coaching changes mid week, mid season work against them imo.

i live in wisconsin but now a vikings fan cuz of favre, trust me i watch all min and gb games and if actually watched how they coach and their play calls you wouldnt be questioning me

The worst coach in the NFL by far is Raheem Morris. He's the worst coach of recent memory. I'd say Morris is worse than Mike Tice and as bad or worse than Rod Marinelli.

Childress sucks, but Mike Singeltary is at least as bad.
