#3990% of bets on the pats...
any thoughts? i mean, of course you shouldn't make a play just based on where the public is going, but 90% is a huge number...Comment -

#43the offense cant possibly be as bad as it was against the ravens, who i think and probably most would think that the ravens D is much better than the pats D... the loss of jenkins didn't hurt them too much against a ravens team that likes to run...the pats are a passing team and hardly run so the loss of jenkins (a run stopper) might not be too significant for this particular game...
what do you think?Comment -

#47Definitely Pats or no play at all. I don't see how you can back Sanchez after that horrible showing in Week 1. Jets are in for a long year if Sanchez can't get it right.Comment -

#48Take the Patriots here. Until the Jets prove that they can score, fade them. I know they were up against a tough Baltimore D, but Sanchez is terrible regardless of who he is playing against.Comment -

#51So what you're saying is the Jets 1st team offense who only scored 2 TD's in 3 preseason games (one of which was in the 4th quarter against the Skins 2nd team defense) and who managed just 3 FG's after being the benefactor of multiple turnovers inside the Ravens 20 and who started not one, but two drives inside the Ravens 40 after big special team plays are going to suddenly beat that by 1 point against the Pats?
Is that what you are trying to tell everyone? You apparently have not watched a single Jets or Pats game this preseason or week 1. This Jets offense might be the worst in the NFL.Comment -

#52Can't find a reason to like the Jets, no offense. Sanchez acts confused and very ineffective. Secondary is weak and yeah, they did have a penalty problem last game but they didn't score and couldn't score except off turnovers.Comment -

#53brady and co. must be salivating after seeing rook kyle wilson get challenged and beat often (when he not interfering with the wr).
they will avoid revis' side of the field but brady will have himself a big game.Comment -

#55Pounding Pats -1.5
Jets won't be able to cover all the offensive weapons, it jsut wont happen. Hernandez and gronkowski are going to have big games in my opinion. Moss,Welker, Edelman if hes healthy will cause matchup problems as will tate.
Jets offense revolves around the run which patriots have a good defense for. Pats will have 8 in the box all game and sanchez will just be his normal self and suck.Comment -

#60You will regret that. The Jets secondary is garbage, aside from Revis. Wilson is a rookie who will be eaten a live by whoever they choose to put him on. Cromartie has been terrible...well his whole career - he should stick to making babies. I like Leonard but he is a mismatch waiting to happen. Then factor in the Jets blitz happy scheme, and that Flacco ate them up on 3rd downs because of it, just imagine what Brady is going to do to them. Also this Pats O-line is as strong as I have ever seen it, would be better if Mankins was in there but Connolly has filled in without a hitch.
Brady's stats will be somewhere in the neighborhood of 25-35 300 yards and 3 TD's (Doc some yardage if the Jets decide to let Sanchez throw down field because he will be picked multiple times in that scenario).Comment -

#61I understand the caution in looking at the opening line, but there are always a few soft lines in the first couple weeks of action. Public perception, while swaying the overall love right now for New England at (-1.5), also may have something to do with maintaining some credence for the Jets in this spot at home.Comment -

#62This game is getting over thought a wee bit, It opened -2.5 Jets at the Hilton on June 20 this year and based on last years power ratings for the Jets at home it was about right with hf added on as that new stadium must be worth 3 points or so making this game a neutral site pk. Now add in gm 1 for both teams into the pr's and the Jets dropped slightly but the line has moved 3.5 points so there is some perception and injury built into this game by the book.
These guys aren't debating this like we are they're just looking at the numbers for the most part and if you think about it they just put out the right number and live with it, of course they don't want to get sided but there's 16 games a week and they can correct pretty easily with other games. All that being said I think the line is correct, and it will be bet up as the week moves along.
Personally I've taken NE -1.5 and as I said above I think the line is right but feel is part of the process I've found over time, and I've lost my fair share, but I'm going with the best qb with the nice stable of receivers. I know about the D of the Jets and the D of the Pats and I'll take my chances with Brady figuring them out opposed to Sanchez figuring out a way to keep up in this game. I don't know what all the hype is on Sanchez, after all his qb rating last year was abysmal and I'd be a little more concerned here if Brunnel gets in there which he may, and you might want to keep that in mind before you sell the house.Comment -

#66You have to go Patriots here. It's not a trap when the Jets are missing Jenkins, Pace and Santonio Holmes. That and the Jets have been calling out the Patriots non stop since Rex came to town, so New England has something to prove each time they play since that week 2 loss.
Patriots drafted two TE's to match up perfectly against the Jets. Revis will battle Moss man to man, but who will cover Welker, Gronkowski, Tate and Hernandez?Comment -
