Thoughts on the Saints vs the Vikes Thursday.

I'm notoriously bad at betting the NFL the first 3 or 4 weeks of the season, until I get a feel for things. I'm seeing Saints -4.5 right now.
BP sent me a free-play so I can't pass that up, nothing to lose. I'm going out of town Monday, away from my computer so I have to place the wager this week-end.
My options are to flip a coin or see what you guys think, so what do you guys think??
Any input will be appreciated. I'm leaning Brees over Favre, am I bad??

The thing is Minnesota totally outplayed the Saints last year, beat them in all faucets of the game but the Saints still won. I believe Minny played well except for a few mistakes, the Saints played OK, and the Saints won.

So what happens now, what if both teams play about equal? The Saints win.

but if anything, I just don't like the idea of a guy walking off the street, dishing out a couple hand offs, getting run over, and then playing in mid season form once week 1 rolls around. I strongly dislike Favre not practicing, and I dislike the loss of Sidney Rice. I believe the Saints offense will play better, and the Vikings offense will play worse. That doesn't mean the Saints will win by more, but that place is rocking and it will for the 1st game of the year.

Best arguments for Minnesota
1) Favre on a nationally televised game
2) Vikings outplayed Saints last year... YES, and they still lost
3) The Vikings will lose but cover... The line is 4.5 now, it will probably go to 6 or 6.5 come kick off.

Favre might have only had 7 picks last year, but he won't again. He's a turnover threat, and especially if his team is losing and he's trying to come back.

The Saints offense putting up their points at home is a more or less given. Minny has some question marks now with Rice out and Favre banged up and not having done anything for months.

Favre = turnover prone with interceptions
AD = turnover prone with fumbles

Saints will put up their points, will the Vikings make it a field goal type game? I think the Saints win by 6 or more.

Two pros that I follow say Saints -4.

The ATS trends says Vikings +4 since the Vikings covered the spread against the Saints 4 times in a row in their recent history between each other.

Vikings +5 looks solid.The Vikings are a better Team, and even when they had Tavaris at QB a couple of years ago they beat the saints. The Vikings are gonna have revenge on their minds, and I dont think they saints are gonna be that good this year.
