Lots of star players failing physicals in NFL.Are they finished?
I remember the high school football physicals this time of year and hating them.I got down to 167# and I was 6'-2'' and they still found stuff wrong with me.That was a long time and many pizzas and Duff beers ago as Homer Simpson would say. You are worried they are going to say you have cancer and then of course your high blood pressure shoots through the roof when you get that boa constrictor snakebiting velcro dealie on your arm.Hell,Obama never had to release his medical records but if you play high school football your medical records are an open book.On the ESPN crawler I have never seen so many established players flunking physicals as this year.So the team cuts you and you go to another team and pass their physical? Is it just a way for a tream fed up with you to get big contracts null and void where you can release a player without paying him?

It used to be where even if you were a scrub special teams player and got your knee busted up,the team couldn't waive you till you were healed.

      wrong

I agree some teams are cutting players with big salaries and contracts and don't paying them anything so they are free to firm with someone else for a year get couple of bucks and maybe if they play well get some extension or go next season and be a good free agent player for any team.

Albert Haynesworth makes me sick. Im not a redskins fan by any means but what a ******* slob. You make that kind of money and cant pass the conditioning check. He literally cant run. What a fat piece of shit.

No, not done at all, just not in condition. Once they get into condition and pass the physicals, they are fine.

They don't feel the physicals just from a high BP, do they? Everyone gets a high BP from white-coat syndrome. Me too, scared of the doc office.

I think the reason is they are all just out of shape from Partying (Drinking, Smoking weed) all summer and feel they can do what Brett Farve did and miss training camp and come in like a champ.

not sure when it changed, but i remember that NFL training camps used to start 3-4 weeks earlier
than they do now. These guys have it easy.
The more they lay off/abuse their bodies, the more pain they have to endure to reach play level.

If it is higher than normal (I don't yet see evidence it is) then probably due to negotiations with the union.

Eric Berry reported to KC's camp in St Joe's and the media asked him about his "conditioning drill" and he laughed and said it was easy and he could of passed it with his eyes closed. Some of these dudes are tubbs of goo when they show up.

It is rather pathetic that Haynesworth can't pass the physical test considering how much money he is being paid, however it's not really important for d-linemen to be able to run 300 yard back-and-forth runs.... It like training a sprinter for a marathon... he will be fine this season although it is still pretty ridiculous
