    Where Miami lost this game
It's amazing how stupid NFL coaches are. Tied 20-20 with 4 minutes left, 3rd and 4 and Miami runs the ball for no gain to play for a FG and leave Peyton Manning down 23-20 with 3:40 left?

Colts didn't touch Pennington all night and he was perfect on short 3rd downs. Why not pass the ball and go for a TD? Unreal.

They lost the game on defense. Hor-ri-ble defense by Miami. That D was on pace of giving up 54+ pts, if time of possession had been even (instead of less than a quarter to Indy). They couldn't stop anything.

That had success with running the ball all game. Dont 2nd guess when the call was fine, execution wasn't.

Too often you play not to lose, rather then play to win

The Dolphins averaged 5 yards per rush. With a 3rd and 6, that's not looking too bad and since the clock was at like 6 minutes, running that extra minute off the clock could have been important. It's easy to say it's a bad call because they didn't get it and they lost, but you gotta think of it the other way.

lets put it this way. i was on indy -3. and i did a backflip in my own head when i saw them hand that ball off.

miami was converting 3rd and mediums all night long to wide open wrs. it was a dumb call. even the sportsguy bill simmons tweeted wtf was that.

i really think sporano's rationale was he wanted to just get a few more yards to make the fg manageable, i dont think he even really aggressively WANTED the first down. if it happens so be it.

i thought it was a pussy call, but i loved it as i was on indy -3

Another bad Miami coaching decision was calling a quick timeout on 3rd down with 50 seconds left in the 1st half. They could of let that run down to about 30 seconds and then called time. Left the Colts with plenty of time to get the tying field goal.

If they missed a fg because they didnt get those extra few yards with the run, people would be saying the pass was a bad call. Its not like its "1 way is going to work for sure and they picked the wrong way" it's all playing for the future. Taking a minute of the clock and getting 3 yards to ensure the FG is a good call.

Same here. I had Colts ML and was already thinking "just don't score the TD too quickly" which they did. But the Fish still blew the last drive. It took 2 minutes for them to cross midfield.

I hope Miami coaches knows that kicking FG=3 and TD=6, it seems like they were just happy with FGs. But calling a running play with 3 minutes left and down by 4 was stupid.
