i already know who i'm gonna take in this matchup. I just want to see people's opinions so we can all learn from this pick and outcome of this game. I see both sides to the argument, but 1 is much stronger and it is "that time of season"

cards got beat 1st week by sf,i have a hard time seeing them sweep,and ya i know thats its the 1st mnf game in sf in a long time,but when they were on tnf vs da bears when everybody was watching,they could barely score...and ya since their 2nd half vs the packers,they've been looking alot better on offense,but their secondary is suspect,and you can argue az has the best trio of receivers,and top 2 tandem(ne,gb) in the nfl..so only thing that worries me is az is coming off emoitional win vs min,so its possible they could be a lil flat,and statistically sf isnt out of the playoff hunt,they would have to win out and az lose out,but i see az putting the dagger in them... i got az for a chunk unless someway somebody tells me something im missing,Comment -

It looks like an interesting game and I actually like the 49ers in it. Arizona's defense looked great against Minnesota, but it's been really inconsistent for most of the season. The main reason I like the 49ers though is that this is that they need this game to have any chance of making the playoffs, while for the Cardinals, it doesn't really mean anything to the Cardinals since they will be a 3-4 seed no matter what. The 49ers will also be extra fired up since this will be their first MNF game in a loong time. The 49ers also ususally keep it really close against the Cardinals so 3.5 points is worth a lot. It also seems like the sportsbooks want people to be on the Cardinals since they probably could have gotten even action if they opened at 4. My main worry is that if the Cardinals passing game is working well, then Alex Smith will have to play a great game for the niners to have a chance, but it seems he is definitely up for it since he has been playing well recently. So I'm pretty sure I'll be going with the niners, I just haven't decided how many units yet.Comment -

Pick 49ers 12U.
The spread we will take when it reaches it's highest value. At first glance, the cards are favored by only 3.5 pts? wtf, the 9ers lost to shitty seahawks and the cards outplayed convincingly the powerhouse vikes last week. we put our farm house on arizona right? not so fast.
Vegas coulda put this line out at 6 or 7 pts and still got most action on arizona. the fact that they put it out at a very shady 3.5 pts and haven't compensated for their "error" after 99% of the bets came in on AZ early on raises a red flag. being a monday night game, there will be a lot of money on this game, if SF covers vegas will make a killing.
The big part in this game will be if SF can offensively produce to match AZ point for point. stats for the season are very misleading, watching on film is the only true way to understand at what level the team and individuals are playing. this offense has run very fluent lately, and they are a conservative team. they will run the ball whether it works or not. last week the cards shut down AP. so they should be able to stop a weaker rushing offense right? that is probably wrong, don't forget week 12 chris johnson ran for 154 yards, 11-steven jackson for 116,10-justin forsett for 123,8-deangelo williams for 158yards. so we know this team can be run on. last week the cards focused against, they stacked the box all day and played with fire, plus the vikes O- line was all banged up and backups where in many positions throughout the game. The most impressive aspect i've seen with the 9ers is the improvement in their passing offense.the young wide recievers are sure doing great, plus since alex smith has started starting, he has looked better and better each game, he threw for 310 yards last week. The cardinals will have little success running the ball against SF defense. SF is ranked 5th against the run and have only allowed 3 100 yard rushers this season. Warner should have success passing against this secondary, but i trust them to force warner into third and longs. last time warner faced SF he was a smidge over 50% and everything was underneath.
Last week was arizona's statement game. the showed up to play against mn and it showed, AZ's defense was very impressive, and there offense was efficient. AZ has struggled with a lot of cupcake teams this year, but the public remembers the last thing they see. they lost to tennesee the week before, shoulda lost to the rams, and beat to teams falling apart after losing to carolina. Well this game is san fransisco's statement game. I know it is a long shot for the 49er s to make the playoffs, but mike singeltary will fire this team up. every one and their grandma thing the cards blow out SF in this easy matchup. The 49ers are better than their record and they need to prove it here on national television. Dexter does a thread on "fade the national T.V. winner". plus historicaly a team hosting on a national t.v. game after not in a long time tend to bring 134% from feeding off the crowds energy.
Another angle in this matchup is that the 49ers have kept it close every time over the last few years. so taking the team recieving pts. in this game is very lucrative.
Alex smith has been lining up in shotgun lately, good and bad, but frank gore is the most dangerous in open feild. swinging him out on dump passes can possibly break one at any time. also the shotgun helps smith locate vernon davis and "breaking out of his shell" michael crabtree sownfield. this is good against the cardinals 30th ranked passing defense.
I like SF to win this game outright. i may place this wager at a higher pt spread but i still love 3.5 pts, if we get rlm to 3 pts. i will take this then.Comment -

I'm leaning SF. Walter's Football Picks has this as his game of the month. Stated a lot of the same reasons as you. I like SF in this spot too. After kc getting beat up last week I see them bouncing back and getting the W here. This is by far the easiest game they had to play at home in some time.
Last 5 DEN, PIT Win, SD,DAL, NYG this game is a walk in the park compared to the last 5. A few things going BUF way is they are more rested played THURS and they are very good on pass defense ranked #4. Other than that all KC and NFL teams normally bounce back after being blow out so they should bring their A game.Comment -

the biggest reason here jim is the broncos 3-4 defense. manning seems unbeatable but he has really struggled against 3-4 and denver is getting pts. i truly believe they can shut down the run pretty well so they can focus on the pass. i just don't think indy can stop the run of denver. Orton has been "satisfactory" in his ability to locate his talented recievers this year. Denver secondary has been much better on film than on stat sheet, i would not be suprised to see this game come down to a last possesion drive for either team.Comment -
