The Patriots usually like to please the home folks in the pre-season, and this year looks like no exception.

New England scored an emphatic 30-3 win in this stadium last week vs. what is supposed to be a vastly improved Arizona team. That brings the record for the Patriots to 17-6 ATS in their last 23 home pre-season contests. Keep in mind also that this is their last pre-season home game this season, and that they are 10-1 ATS in this circumstance the last 11 years!

Washington has looked terrible so far, managing nothing in a 19-3 road loss at Cincinnati and then making a bad New York Jets team look like world-beaters in a 27-14 home loss. Now we know that Washington has loads of talent, especially on defense. However the Redskins have apparently elected not to run any trick defenses in the pre-season so as not to give anything away once the real games start, and remember also that stud running back Clinton Portis is out until the regular season.

    Play: New England Patriots -3.5
