Why do the Jaguars suck so bad?
When a team flops like this you have to ask yourself what the problem is. Is is simply that they suck or have no talent? Or does it come down to coaching quality?

Well, contrary to what many might think, the Jags do have some talent on the roster.

Maurice JD and Forsett are not the worst RB's in the league. Shorts and Blackmon are no slouches either. So, what's the problem? Do we just blame it on Gabbert?

Basically, there primary coaching staff is all new. New coach, new offensive coordinator, new defensive coordinator and new special teams coach.

Gus Bradley (Head coach) comes from Seattle where they work the west coast offensive strategy, However, he brought in Jedd Fisch to handle the offense who only incorporates the pro-style.

So not only are the Jags under an all new coaching staff with varied experience in offensive strategies, they have completely switched everything offensively that they have done in the previous seasons.

All in all, the team is ran by a mixed bag of cards and are not adapting very well to the new ideas and philosophies that have been brought on board. I think over time they can get things in order, but were not gonna see it any time soon.

    Thoughts?

I just think it's interesting how people misjudge this team. It's a case of mismatched coaching experience, not a lack of talent.

mjd, shorts, and now getting blackmon back they have better weapons than the lambs do, and for as terrible as gabbert is (prob a worse pick than jamarcus russel) bradford not much better..honestly tho if they were really trying to win any gms they would play henne cause while he not good he at least will take shots down field where gabbert is the ultimate check down scrub (he not even good at that)..

This was a 2-14 team last year. They've also had injuries. They'll get better yet this year, but the bar was low anyway.

This post is priceless. You justify that they have talent on their team by naming 4 position players, one of which is Justin Forsett. I've got bad news for you, there are 53 players on an NFL roster. The game revolves around blocking and tackling. You can't name drop 2 RBs and 2WRs and claim that a team has talent.

Just another example of how fantasy football has taken a bunch of fans who know literally nothing about the game, and given them the impression that they are qualified to discuss it.

Oh wow. Thanks for the hot tip. Didn't realize all 53 players on the Broncos are as talented as Peyton and Welker. You probably didn't even realize that the Jags have an all new coaching staff.

On any given team, there are truly only a handful of valuable/talented players. Not a single team has 2 awesome QB's, 4 incredible WR's, 5 amazing RB's and a few killer TE's laying around. Most teams are quite limited when it comes to true raw talent. All I'm saying is that the Jags do not lack talent. Good players are over-looked for a wide number of reasons and it usually boils down to bad management and poor coaching. If you put Brees or Peyton on the Jags they would still be in the same position scraping the bottom of the barrel because of a mismatched coaching staff.

Oh but go ahead and mindlessly blame everything on Gabbert like the rest of the herd.

Rookie RT Joeckel will swap to LT next game with Eugene Monroe moving from LT to RT, that's interesting. It's maybe also a matchup move, letting the more experienced Monroe battle Jake Long next game while giving Joeckel the chance to make the inevitable switch to LT where they want him long term. Either way, it's a good sign that Joeckel has shown enough to be trusted at LT and maybe the swap will mix things up for the Jags in a positive way.
