#37Sorry guys, but the timestamp on the bet says he past posted. Also, they should check to see if his betting patterns match previously bet races. If he is playing $5 exacta boxes, and suddently he hits a $40 straight tri..... then something is wrong. I'd love to see that past history.Comment -

#39If you think Bodog has cheated or will cheat on a wager then betting offshore probably isn't for you. Like Trident said, races start at different times and you don't know exactly when they start until they start hence the 2 min. It's like betting on the over under of the first 2 minutes of an NBA game right before listed tipoff and then finding it started a minute earlier. Lots of horse bettors like to see the horse in the gate and how they line up etc. If you need this then you risk it being canceled and you are better off with worse odds by not betting through sportsbooks. If you can bet races well before, youre safe.Comment -

#42Going into this further, I do think it is totally insane for a book to leave an option to wager on a horserace up and available when the race is already gone. With all the hundreds of millions of dollars bet offshore, the fact that some company cannot develop a simple program to make this issue go away is beyond me.Comment -

#43To Frogger and all the rest. I was not at the races or by a tv watching races. I was at a friends house showing them how "cool" Bodog was. I saw the race up and I bet it. Simple as that. I had no idea when post time was or wasn't. As far as my betting patterns go, I had be two days early and had wagers well over $4000 total. I had a pick 4 for $280 bet. I didn't hit a $60 trifecta. In fact' in my betting of this race, I had almost $50 more of wagers that lost. Heck, if I wanted to cheat the system then I would just have bet w bunch of good bets. Maybe a pick 4 or superfecta. I don't expect anything for free. I didn't expect them to pay. I knew they would come up with something. It is what I get for betting offshore. I just want people to know they have problems. I don't want money I don't earn. The bets won and lost were all honest bets. I understand there point of view but I don't feel that I should totally be penalized for their mistake. Do I deserve the money? Yes. Do I understand what they are doing? Yes. I just don't want it to mess someone else up down the road. The funny thing about it is the people who have no idea about me making judgments and calling me a liar. And I am sure they pay out big figures every day. I just want people to know if they are betting horses that they need to watch the track live or whateve and do not believe Bodog to trust their off times. They do make plenty of mistakes. Again, I had a pick4 that they graded as a loser when in actuality it won. They need to get a better system. What they could have done was said "Hey, our fault" and give me a credit or something. I don't need tainted money but when I win it honestly I expect to get rewarded. Thanks peopleComment -

#47I've bet horse races at Bodog and was able to get some bets in right up to post time. There were a few instances where I was trying to get my selections in, the race went off and my bet was not accepted. I believe dayacorp has a case here. Why would Bodog accept the bet and then come back with some bullshit that the wager was made after the race started. With the bet being a 4 grand winner, I believe some kind of deception is going on here. The guy (dayacorp) obviously has been betting horses with Bodog and knows what he's doing. I would side with the player here and Bodog should pay up!Comment -

#48Yeah don't use bodog. They were my first betting site that I used, but I quickly got turned off by them. Their lines go up really late, they offer crap lines (unless you like underdogs), and barely offer any ML's.Comment -

#52Bodog has no customer loyalty, and poor CS. I dont like them, but Ive placed plenty of bets of 500 or more, and Ive never ever had a problem.
Ive never had a payout problem with them, and that should speak volumes, considering I have about 10 threads about how I dont like Bodog. A+ book in that way only.
If you posted your ticket it would make or break your case.Comment -

#53I also have always been paid by bodog, and their CS has been decent to me....I've been with them over 5years and have done multiple withdraws....In fact one time they gave me a tournament credit for poker for a problem i had with their software......

#55bet was made at 2:03 they said my time which was 1:03 Fairmounts time. Race went off at 1:03 supposedly. So this proves I did not know results beforehand. I understand the rules. I see their point of view. Mistake should have not happened in the first place though. I claim I made the bet earlier but that is their time stamp. I will just know next time to not bet so close to posttime as it may not really be post time. It is hard to know when you are not at racs though. You have to go on what they say. I still say it is not right.Comment -

#57why? I said it was at 2:03..post time was 2:03. It was late. End of story. What is it gonna prove? I make thousands of dollars in wagers a day. Do I lose or win thousands? Of course not. It is not gonna help my cause at all. Thanks for your help people. Gonna stick with TVG for my wagers from now on.Comment -

#58I can't believe that Bodog would accept a bet at 2:08 on a race that went off at 1:57; sounds like they're lying. You book the bet, you lose the bet, you pay the bet.Comment -

#59Pretty much fuked either way
If you win like you did. You lose
If you would have lost that one bet. You lose because there is no way they refund for past posting even though it is their fault 100% for not cutting off betting

#60I am always liable to side with the player, but this dude is super sketchy with his "witnesses" and constant talk about how he was showing bodog off/now his friends are never going to play there. People are willing to believe you if you come forward with stuff, but you're just posting nonsense paragaphs over and over. In my opinion, you took a shot with a past post that paid off incredibly high, got caught, and are now whining about it. What exactly do you think is going to happen here?
i mean....the scenario you would have us believe are some combination of (1) bodog maliciously altered the numbers in your account to avoid paying out a measly $4k and (2) that you didn't know that the race you were throwing down on had started already. either one of those is incredibly hard to believe. if you have information or data, post it up. if you don't, shut up.
Yeah the penny bettor dittoheads are all screaming that Bodog is terrible...well I've been playing there for years, and have won off them consistently and I've never had one single issue with a payout or customer service. They're also the ONLY book that sends me detailed records for tax purposes (that being said....mb and pinnacle records are easy to find within each site). I also remember fondly when they even took over WWTS and HONORED all of the bets...people went from thinking they had lost all of their money to a scam book to seeing their bets as pending wagers in Bodog accounts. If you want to say it's a rec book, fine, but they're not thieves or crooks by any stretch of the imagination.Comment -

#63Just to clarify, bodog.com is run out of Kahnawake, Canada and is subject to civil law of Canada. The wild west days of the online gambling industry were back in the 1990's...the international companies now offering services are considered normal mainstream business by everyone in the world today and are run from cities like London, which is also where I live.
Also, bets are legal if they follow the rules of the site. Software glitches of any sort do not change the rules of the site.
Thanks,
Becky
Do you expect us to believe that you would have informed the bettor if he had lost the bet?
....and btw, remember the wild west days of bodog? A couple years back your name and reputation was crap in this industry.Comment -

#67No one associated with any of the bodog licensees is a crook- I know all of the licensees personally- and bodog.com has not missed a payout in the 15 years it is been in business. Can you please give me more details? I'll be happy to provide the facts in response.

#69IMO, if you got the bet in on time, it's bodog's fault if it didn't hit their system in time. So, dayacorp, did you or did you not get the bet in within the required time, and if so, is the log of the phone call still on your phone?
I am assuming you called the bet in...maybe I'm wrong.Last edited by scott235; 04-20-11, 04:03 PM.Comment -
