i saw someone posted "the public was all over that pick so i was a little weary"
why should someone be hesitant when the public is betting on them alot?

Because the public sucks at betting sports. This is how the sportsbooks get rich.

Just be weary of public bets in which the line moves the other way. But other than that the public wins too so don't get too mixed up in it.

Joe Public is a loser in the long run. Betting "against the grain" stacks the paper in this business.

Fade the public some times, like he said, when line moves the other way.

The public tends to win approx 47-48% of the time ATS on sides for example.

Just like the Pats at home?
There are tons of spots where the public wins, my advice, 'cap the game and if the number you get is to your liking, bet it, don't get too hung up on percentage of money bet on one side etc. etc.
Remember there are tons of squares here and everywhere that think they are sharp, but are not.

You mean like the Pats at home versus NY?!? Not only did Joe Public lose they got crushed on all the square teasers too. If you're gonna gonna go square proceed with caution

80% on Ville @ Providence and loses outright! Joe Public loses his shirt there. Be very wary of 75%+ square bets where the line goes the other way like this one did.

That was the exception, not the rule, correct me if I am wrong, but weren't the Pats 6-2 this season versus the number, and we all know the 'squares' love NE at home.
Pick your spots, but squares do win, and sharps do lose.

Nothing is wrong going with the public IF your analysis shows you should be on the same side.
But if you go with the public just because of them, then everything is wrong.

65 percent of the public on GB yesterday.
Guess the squares do win some times.

Big, ass, huge red flag when you see big percentage on a side... yet the number continues moving in that sides favor...

If you like it, bet it. Then see which side the public is on. Then you'll know which side you're on. Wait for results. Profit!

My philosophy all along.
I 'cap it, if I see my number are better than Vegas' number, I bet it.
If it loses, so be it, I did my homework, I bet my numbers, I will not win every wager, but I got no problem when my work loses instead of blindly following some tout's work.

my favorite way to show that the public are asses is ESPN's streak for the cash....
everyone is trying to pick straight up winners to build their streak, yet 2 examples just from today:
90% of players chose the hornets to win the game even though the suns were 2 point favs
87% of players chose the jazz to win the game even though the warriors are 4.5 point favs
i know these arent HUGE favs, but when just selecting a winner in the game, shouldnt more people be leaning towards the favorite?
