Worse "big name" coach in March: Self or Williams

Man o man do some of you guys go way overboard on the whole such and such coach is awful and sucks thing. I just dont understand how you can call some of these guys bad coaches when some of them are future HOF'ers, have national championships, multiple final fours, and win a ton of games. So many people on this board are clueless when it comes to this subject and a lot of them like to say such and such is a terrible coach cuz its the cool thing to do whether its true or not.

There is a lot of things that go into being a college basketball coach and its a lot more than just x's and o's. Everyone on here thinks if you cant draw up some amazing plays then you suck as a coach which is far from true. It's funny because anyone who is a head coach especially at the DI level knows way more about the x's and o's than anyone on this board by a mile.

Now there are plenty of coaches are aren't that great at there job but some of the names you guys throw out there are unbelievable and make you sound so foolish.

you make some good points. that said, pretty sure that an entire national audience knew that Kansas was playing a triangle-and-two for the final 9 minutes Sunday, but Roy Williams needed a reporter to tell him after the game. while the man certainly has some good qualities and will be HOF'er, that's pretty strong evidence that he's no longer performing at the necessary level to coach an elite program. if i were a UNC fan, i'd be righteously pissed that the UNC bench and players had no clue what defense was being played at crunch time in the biggest game of the season. any decent rec team calls out defensive changes to one another. for UNC players and coaches to be so unaware is pretty bad.
