Youngstown St. +6.
In their two meetings this year Youngstown beat Detroit @ Detroit by 3 and Detroit beat YS at YS by 2. If you look into their team statistics, these two are mirror images of one another.
YS has the 113th ranked offense in the country and the 218th ranked defense.
Detroit has the 81st ranked offense in the country and the 219th ranked offense.
YS will stick with this team offensively, and after watching both of these teams play over the past couple of weeks i would give a heavy defensive edge to YS. Detroit takes possessions off and turn the ball over at an incredible rate at times. If you look at their schedule, the teams that give YS the most trouble are really good defensive teams. Detroit is the opposite.
YS just beat Green Bay in the first round of the tourny by 17. Five players reached double figures in that game. "Junior Damian Eargle led the team with 17 points while senior DuShawn Brooks had 16 and sophomore Kendrick Perry posted 15 points. Senior Ashen Ward and junior Blake Allen added 14 and 11 points, respectively. It mark the first time this season, YSU had five players reach double digits in the same game. The last time that happened was against Loyola in 2010 when six players reached double figures."
Seems to me that 6 is a ton of points on a neutral court for a team that is almost a clone of the other. Doesnt hurt that the public will be all over Detroit today. My opinion anyways.
