I'm liking florida +6 here, and loving florida w/pts in 1st half. Cuse was down 2 at half vs stanford and va tech. Florida has been road tested at Ohio St (lost by 7). This is the first taste of legit competition for SU.

Syracuse is to deep for Florida... I think florida covers the spread but wins SU. I love both of these teams so no bias here.

Even though I think that Syracuse has a strong chance to win this game I believe that Florida will give them everything that they can handle. The Gators have already played a true road game this year, losing by just seven points at Ohio State. We all saw what the Buckeyes can do in their thrashing of Duke and Florida went stride-for-stride with them. The Gators have a four-guard offense and they have an excellent array of weapons to attack Syracuse's 2-3 zone. This game is simple: if Florida hits its 3's then they are going to cover this line and potentially win this game. If they go out and put up an 8-for-25 then we're going to lose this top play. But I don't think that is going to happen. Syracuse was really outplayed by Virginia Tech and Stanford in New York City. Neither of those teams are anything special and both had Syracuse on the ropes in the second half. I think Florida can do better than that. The Orange go 10-deep and they have as much talent as any team in the nation. In fact, they could be the best team in the country. However, they still don't know how to use it all. Jim Boeheim has not settled on a rotation, his players are not totally comfortable with some of the combinations that he uses, and from game-to-game no one really knows who the go-to guy is. Florida is going to keep coming. They aren't going to quit and Billy Donovan teams have never had a ton of problems attacking a zone defense. Conversely, Syracuse doesn't use its post players in the offense so they won't really be able to exploit Florida's weakness on the interior. Again, Florida was able to hold up against Ohio State's devastating frontcourt. There isn't anything Syracuse will be able to throw at them that equates to Jared Sullinger. I do not think that Florida will pull the upset. But they will have a lead in the second half and they will fight this one down into the final minutes. The Orange are notoriously bad from the free throw line and Florida has a bevy of guards that can knock down outside shots. I think that is exactly what keeps this one close late and helps us tuck inside the number. I like Syracuse to win by three but for the points to hold up here.

It really isnt much of a distraction. People are transferring the penn state events to the syracuse ones, but the ones at SU arent nearly as bad. No one saw someone getting raped in a shower and not called the cops. There isnt a cover up. We really dont know much about the cuse scandal yet.

We know that for almost a decade ESPN had this information and did nothing with it and told no one about it (presumably because of their cozy relationship with Big East basketball). Although you might not know this if you count on ESPN for this news.

I agree...this is the play, although shop around because it can be found at +3.5 right now. I also like FLA to keep it close in the 2H and plan to play both +3.5 and 6.5 tonight.
