Nice OT bailout. I am actually 2-1 on wagers affected by OT this year. Anyone who followed my plays last year I am sure remembers I was something like 1-9 on OT decided wagers.

I do remember an inordinate amount of rectal discomfort from OT's last year. Quick question but only when you're through capping for the night. (Do not want to distract you from the main job at hand.)...
Might be my prejudice, but it seems like your picks are beginning to affect the line. You gave this at 67. By the time I logged in it was at 67.5, by the time I pressed submit it jumped to 68. If you're not affecting the line now, got to assume you will be soon enough. Question is -- in a very general way -- what kind of wiggle room beyond the number you first give would you say is still an acceptable amount to get down on? Another 2 points one way or the other? I know this is probably dependent on all sorts of variables, but I also know we won't have time to ask for each game and you certainly don't want to have posters bugging you about that while you're tracking other games. So is there any kind of rule of thumb you'd give out on that? TIA.

I don't think 2 points of wiggle room is reasonable on 2nd half totals, personally. Perhaps 2-3 points in an entire game but when you're talking about 2nd halves it get tougher IMO. Personally if you can't get it within a point to half a point of the original post then you can be setting yourself up for some real tough losses down the road.

I've seen these games jump at least a point to 1.5 before I can get to them at 5dimes. It's usually a good sign because it's moving in the direction he thinks it should. There were a few times it moved 2 points so i layed off because that's a lot for a half. I almost get more nervous if it doesnt move

It does seem like I have beat the closer on at least 95% of these, and most by at least a point. Not sure if that is a coincidence or not. I cant remember how well I did vs the closer on 2H's last year, don't think I followed up on it much. Though a small part of it could also be attributed to the fact that I am using multiple books so I am able to choose whichever book opens the 2H total at the best number, which occasionally gives me an extra half point or point of value to begin with over some people.
That is a tough question though. I guess the best I can say is every play I make has probably a minimum projection of 6 points (rough educated guesstimate, don't use B&W formulas) of leeway from the number I played (if every angle and hypothetical lines up correctly or better in the 2H). Even if you lose a couple points of value off my number, I would still expect there to be some value left there, just obviously slightly diminished value. I will leave it up to a judgement call on your part. I cant really remember a single play this year where I won and the people who followed lost, so the line movement hasn't seemed to make too much a difference to this point.
Should I ever tail you if the line moves by a half? From your experience does it have a significant impact?

Unfortunately, that game stayed in the 5 point lead range throughout the last couple minutes which is the death zone for an under wager. Was on pace to win throughout the first 22 minutes of the half, and then bam, 20 points in the final 2:18.

Was hoping for another OT to save us in that Memhis/OKC game. Came close but not quite... On to the next.
