They are key but what a dismal showing by the conference. 2/9 in the Sweet 16, obviously discounting it to 9 bc of the head to head 2nd rd games. They only advanced 2 bc it was a guarantee.

Uconn is in the sweet 16 because they beat another Big East team in Cincy.

Marquette is in the sweet 16 because they beat another Big East team in Syracuse.

The Big East had so many teams in the tourney that they were pretty much gauranteed to have a team or two in the sweet 16 because they would match up with each other in the second round provided they beat the teams that the should have no problem with. That being said, L'ville couldn't get it done against a 13 seed.
