As for the Red Storm, well, make no bones about it - this is the most dangerous team in the Big East, in my eyes.

In past years, the venue hasn't mattered much in this tournament. This season, however, St. John's is proving that Madison Square Garden is its house.

The Red Storm finished the campaign on a 9-2 run to end up 20-10 for the team's first 20-win season in eight years. And much of that success was because of a stellar campaign at MSG, as St. Johns was 7-1, including wins over Georgetown, Notre Dame, Duke, U Conn and Pittsburgh.

You add in veteran coach Steve Lavin, a veteran lineup that is dominated by seniors, and you just might have an Elite 8 team on your hands.

But it all begins here, today, with the Big East Tournament, where this team can gain a wealth of momentum to kickstart a huge run!

I will never bet on a St. Johns game again.. I bet on them, they losa ala Seton Hall last Thursday, I bet against them they win.. I havent won a game I have bet on with or against St. Johns in I dont know how long

They are not a good favorite. Those games in MSG, they were Dogs.

In their last game, they almost didnt cover against USF. That game was close until the last 6 minutes of the game.

I actually love Rutgers in this spot. I don't think they win SU, but they'll keep it respectable. I like taking teams that played the day before vs. teams that were off.

i was thinking of taking Rutgers ATS also... double digits seems a bit much to give them considering this is St. John's first game of the tourney. i do think that they will win it though

I'll be on Rutgers with the points. St. John's will likely win this, but Rutgers is going to be very dangerous in this one. They've got good momentum, and they really have nothing to lose and everything to gain. They've shown they can play competitively (but usually lose) against good teams. They've done it against St. Johns. The Johnnies are starting to carry a heavy load of expectations. I'll take the dog.

NC... I agree with your statement regarding tournament games where taking team the team who already played vs teams who were idle... I do not have any stats to support my lean... I am a HUGE JOHNNIES FAN and I have played AGAINST them... RUTGERS IS a VERY good DEFENSIVE team who SHOULD (?????) keep the JOHNNIES OFFENSE off balanced... good luck..

I'm going to look at this game for a 2nd half wager and lay off the game/1st half. 10pts is a ton lay for a team that won most of it's big games as an underdog.

The "MAN" knows that St.Johns is the "hot" team right now, also playing at MSG.....this is an OVERLAY and Rutger should be the play, albeit a small one. St. Johns does not improve their NCAA tourney standing by that much by winning the big east tourney. in other words, they arent jumping up to a #1 or #2......

rutgers did not play well in my opinion, seton hall shot themselves out of that game at times. rutgers only chance, and it does matter, is momentum going into this game.

4 point game. st johns blew a 10 point lead in what is basically a home game. for beasts they sure do suck and tend to play down to competition. this team will flame out big time in tourney. they read and believe their own hype too much.

rutgers under 35% and johnnies still cant put them away. just dont see how they can turn it on and off for tourney. in ncaas they will be playing a team that is inferior in talent, and if they come out and play like this, thinking team doesnt deserve to be on court with them, they will lose in 1st round.
