Anybody have a feeling that who ever wins, that it will be a blowout?

I'm looking at this game. DeAndre Brown (La Tech's leading scorer) is still suspended, and will not play tonight, from what I have been able to gather. That is big. Also, Nevada is still in the WAC tournament discussion; Louisiana Tech is not. Nevada is coming off a terrible, disappointing homestand. They are young and sometimes undisciplined (except for Dario Hunt, who is very solid underneath), but there is some talent there. Olek Czyz (the Reno native who transfered to Nevada from Duke, and missed part of the season) is really coming into his own right now. Czyz scored a game-high 25 points in the Pack’s last game, a 72-66 loss to Boise State. Czyz also tied his career-high with 11 rebounds to record his second double-double of the season. I think Nevada could win this pretty handily. Nevada will likely be my play of the day.

After two brutal home losses last week, I think the Wolf Pack bring some D with them tonight.
The Pack, only hit around 39% in their last two games, so maybe there overdue?

And what’s up with DeAndre Brown, I don’t think he’s playing tonight?

This is going to take a little more research, but some of Louisiana Tech's numbers look a little gawdy......143 win% (2-12) in conference, added that they are NOT in the top 200 in any of the "Four Factors" categories! As a Matter of fact, L Tech lags Nevada in ALL the "Four Factor"....never a good sign.

My sheet has the Wolfpack by 4, but thats an overall rating, using H/R stats and last 5-8 games looks like a Nevada play...

          Good Luck on your action....

As I said in the other thread...I know this NV, as a season ticket holder I got to see them plenty. I know how well they are capable they are of playing and how bad. The numbers in this game don't mean as much as emotion. The team and coaches all know they eff'd up last week as they had the 2-seed locked up if they just won those game, and have been paying for it in practice all week. From what I've been reading from coach, they have been as pretty physical in practice more than anytime this year.

Look for the guys to come focused and ready to play because a two-seed in the conference tourney still has a glimmer of hope...LT on the other hand is in a downward spiral and has no chance of competing in the tournament, and they know it. They aren't very good to begin with, but they are still trying to adjust with playing without their leading scorer and leader. I saw them play in Reno, with Brown, and they are not a very good basketball team and have digressed since then. The score of that game doesn't really show how close that game wasn't.

LT may put up a fight in the 1H, but if we get any sort of lead and get this to double digits LT will not be able to overcome a deficit and probably won't care to...which is why I think it's imperative to start fast and put them away early, which isn't NEV's strong suit. I am not calling this a lock by any means but you have to look at the situation and see that Nev is the more desperate team because this season has been underwhelming to say the least and they are starting to realize it's coming to a close and want to prove something.

Great insight. This is the intel that we need to see more often. I'm on the WolfPack tonight fellas! Go get em!

I'm a LaTech alum (graduated in 2007) and I have been to several home games this year. Other than Deandre Brown and Olu Asaholu, we havent had many go-to scorers, and it's been a disappointing year in conference. I'll be at the game tonight - we do play a LOT better at home, but we have had at least 10 different starting 5's due to injuries, suspensions, etc. We have a lot of young players and Rupp (our coach) has been giving players a lot of playing time.

My pick for tonight is that Nevada likely outlasts us in the 2nd half, but I dont think we'll get blown out at home. I see spread is -1.5 Nevada, and I cant see a reason for you not to bet it....
