OD is good, but like an earlier poster said don't forget about George Mason. OD has done well for me at the book, but George Mason's 21-6 ats has pulled me out of a jam or 2.

I like the Colonial this year. Old Dominion. George Mason. VCU. Even Drexel and Hofstra aren't bad. They could make noise in the NCAA tourny. And I am going to keep an eye out for them in the NIT too -- they might have a team or two in there too, I'm thinking.

The good news for ODU is that it is likely Mason, VCU, and Drexel (the teams that give ODU the most problems matchup wise) will all be on the opposite side of the bracket. Mason and ODU have split the 2 meetings this year, each winning on the other team's floor. If that is the final it will be interesting because ODU has an outstanding defense EXCEPT for defending the 3, where they blow chunks, and Mason can shoot very well from behind the arc. Teams often struggle shooting in that dump known as the Richmond Coliseum, so things are setting up as best they can for the Monarchs.

I like ODU's chances and while Mason will obviously be the favorite, I suspect ODU will hold the best value. Several teams have a chance to win, though.

Agree with Zephyr that Colonial has been a competitive mid-major conference this year. There are no Butlers in this group,but several that could surprise in a given game. ODU wins conf. tourney and Mason gets upset before the big one.

I like this call. They are experienced, they rebound and they play defense. Don't discount the fact that their top 8 players are all juniors and seniors, which goes a long way in tournament play. Very underrated team in my opinion.
