Big 12 teams the next couple of days (Dec 21-22)
I know they've pretty much sucked hind teat this year, certainly haven't been all that impressive after the preseason hype. But I'm liking K-State on Tuesday against UNLV. I'm seeing 4½-5 on early numbers. Anyone think it's safer to wait on the total instead?

Also, any early thoughts from others on Wednesday's two Big 12 games -- Kansas at Cal, Texas at Mich State -- feel free to offer them up. Hard to guage much before lines come out, but I am thinking of an 'under' already in the 'Horns-Spartans game.

I have a problem with a team who shoots 55% from the line(K-State)... Any close game and K-State loses because of thier free throw shooting! K-State's defense is great but I think Florida may have exposed them a little bit. A lot of back cuts and back screens kills the K-State in your face D, and when in doubt just foul.. They are not gonna make the free throw. I do think K-State is the better overall team but this is a tough one to make a play on..

        Good Luck everyone!!

I got so disgusted with Kansas State earlier that I swore them off - and so far I'm glad I did. How can a ranked college team shoot free throws so badly? And a times they play with the dicispline of Tennesee. But there is talent there - good luck Willie.

dchecks & Rick22, I'm with you guys on being gun-shy when it comes to poor free-throw shooting teams. Martin ought to have these kids shooting free throws for an hour each right now. I'm a fool, however, and have often proved that So I'm playing them tonight.

Also very keen to see the lines on the Kansas and Texas games. Putting Selby into the mix last week is a very likely reason why Kansas' tempo was a bit off, just don't see them shooting so poorly overall a second-straight game. I'm already leaning to Mich State straight up, hate betting against them at home, but will have to see the spread first.

I can't bet on K State in this one. I haven't pulled the trigger with a bet on UNLV, but that's my lean. As has been pointed out here, K State has had trouble at the free-throw line, and trouble shooting in general. Their field goal percentage is low for a highly ranked team, at .437, and .399 for their last four games. UNLV shoots extremely well (.499). I like the better shooting, very well coached, team in a battle like this. UNLV is motivated; the two losses in their last two (at Louisville and at home against UCSB) have dropped them out of the rankings, just when excitement about the team in Vegas was really rising. This is a chance at some redemption, and perhaps a chance to get back into the rankings. Also, remember, Kruger was associated with K State for 19 years as a player and coach. He lost to them last year. I think UNLV gives the Cougars a battle tonight on this sorta neutral court (in KC).
