In my spare time today I parsed the current season stats for NBA to see if this system had any promise outside of college basketball. Unfortunately, the results were less than pleasing. Ignoring pushes, here's the quick break down for the NBA:

3-0 to cover is 38-34
4-0 to cover is 19-19
5-0 to cover is 9-10
6-0 to cover is 4-5
7-0 to cover is 3-1
8-0 to cover is 1-2
9-0 to cover is 1-0
10-0 to cover is 0-1

Even at the high levels of streaks 5+, it's a 50-50 shot. Crunched it for loss streaks and got remarkably similar numbers. It looks like this streak business and teams being "due" by getting a push from oddsmakers doesn't carry over to the pro leagues
