I do believe Tom Izzo is 15-3 in one-day turnaround games for his NCAA tourney career.

Did the refs bail them out tonight, when UNI was whistled for a grand total of 3 fouls in the first half (9 for MSU) and 13 for the entire game (19 for MSU)?

Come on, BANK. You're better than this. This program simply finds a way.

why does Izzo suck during the big ten season and big ten tourney then at getting the least out of his talent?

Oh yeah, these are all sample size issues. LOL @ the myth of Tom Izzo coaching in the NCAA tourney. I remember when Coach K had the same rep.

no i feel tonight's game was actually the 1st fair shake the refs gave the opposing team against them all tourney....uni uncharacteristically bad free throw shooting is what got this garbage team by today

He "sucks during the Big Ten season"? Last I checked, MSU has won Big Ten titles under Izzo six times in the last 12 years: 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2009, 2010.

As for the BTT, it's pretty simple: if MSU doesn't need to make a deep run to enhance their tourney chances, he pretty much punts to rest up and prepare for the real tournament.

Tom Izzo is a good coach. Can we all agree on this and stop fukking talking about it. Jesus if you spend 5 minutes on this board you would think he is John Wooden. MSU is not here because Izzo is a mastermind. They are here because they beat Maryland on a buzzer beater and then they got to play a 9 seed in the sweet 16. The best team they will have to play on their way to the final four is Maryland Come on now this MSU team is lucky because all the good teams in this region were upset. They have underachieved all year and now because they squeak by New Mexico St., get a buzzer beater over Maryland, and then beat the almighty N. Iowa they are so amazing? I hope Tennessee crushes them so I don't have to listen to this shit anymore

ya i just saw that on ESPN too. interesting stat. If butler comes out strong and can get a lead after 10:00 KState might be in trouble expending a lot of energy in coming from behind to end the half. Those first 10 minutes will be huge for KState backers. I think they pull it out in the end no matter still

I know the stats I don't need them regurgitated to me over and over. I think ESPN just did that about 10 times. I actually like Tom Izzo and if you read my post I said he is a good coach. If you want to talk about him being good this is not the year buddy. That would be last year when he beat Louisville and then UConn (both upset victories). This year is a different story. Congratulations to Izzo for beating teams that they are supposed to beat. They were a preseason top five team who was supposed to contend for a title. They have beaten NMSU, Maryland, and N. Iowa. Can you really tell me (with a straight face) that they were not lucky to be playing N. Iowa in the sweet 16?

Izzo is a solid coach, but John Wooden was ten times the coach Izzo is/will ever be, and not even worth mentioning in the same sentence...aside from this one

This Vols squad is on a mission themselves...they seem to be flying under the radar, unlike past teams that may or may not have been more talented.

Lucky? Are you f'ing serious??? MSU wins close games because of Izzo. He is a mastermind at the end of games. All those games during the season don't mean anything. The only games that matter are the ones in the last 2 weeks. Just ask Syracuse, Kansas or Kentucky. All those teams have 2-3 future NBA starters. I doubt there is even a single player on this MSU team that will ever be a Starter in the NBA. Northern Iowa was a gift? They beat the overall number 1 seed in the tournament handily. There schedule was number 17 in RPI rankings. They were anything but a cream puff team. MSU wins because of great team play and great coaching. Anyone that says MSU is lucky is f'ing crazy. So are they going to be lucky now because they get to play #5 Butler next instead of Syracuse or K-state that both lost to Butler??? Quit hating f'ing ridiculous.

Let the haters hate. They've been doing it for over a decade now.

I like Tom Izzo. I think he is a great coach. If the fact that I don't deep throat him for underachieving all year long and then finally playing up to their potential makes me a hater then I guess I am a HATER. Today's win was a good win. Much more impressive than the previous 3. Congrats to MSU and the G.O.A.T.

Hater = the most overused word on SBR.
