#37the reason he gets fukking stories on him is because he has autism
if any normal person did this even the morons in the media would notice the bracket is in something with no deadline
but because he has autism we're supposed to believe that he submitted it before and that he's some kind of genius and oh what a great story
bullshit
millions and millions of brackets done..some lucky fuker is liable to get one this far..lotsa brackets are just random picks..I let my girl pick a bracket and the first thing she picked was Pine Bluff over Kansas..I told her to get the hell out of the chairComment -

#43The original story was changed. In all likelihood this is a misunderstanding.
Here are the facts:
- kid is autistic
- brother notices his perfect bracket so far
- brother tells mother to notify the media
- now the story is out
- but ..
- CBS made a MAJOR adjustment to the story!
- CBS has a contest, where picks can't be changed, and a 'bracket manager', where picks can be updated as the tournament progresses.
- the kid's perfect bracket was in 'bracket manager'.
- as mentioned, the kid is autistic, and it was his brother who gave the story wings.
Did the brother understand what he was looking at? Unlikely. All perfect brackets are bust, except one in a tournament manager program where picks can be changed? The same article mentions that it is easier to win the lottery, twice, than to have a perfect bracket at this point.Comment -

#44CBS did not adjust the story.
NBCChicago.com did, because the writer of the article (and the editor in charge) did not check the facts and wasn't familiar with what Bracket Manager is.
It removes the entire point of having an article about it, but it's too late for them now. That's why you check facts before you run with a story, not after.
After they published it, I assume one or more of the readers pointed out to them that having a perfect bracket on Bracket Manager is not exactly an accomplishment.[quote=jjgold;5683305]I win again like usual

#45If you can't verify a million + plus odds scenario, then it's bullshit. He probably did very well, and then his brother had the bright idea of changing a few losses to get him on TVComment -

#48I also have a hard time believing his story where he says he studied all year for the tournamnet, put in all kinds of time and effort --- then didnt enter a single online contest that had a prize ?
That just doesnt sound right. I will study all year put in loads of work, then go online and find pretty much the only bracket tournament that lets you change picks because it doesnt give a prize anyway. That just doesnt make sense. There are way too many free bracket contests online.
I believe he also entered a lot of free bracket contests but cant admit it because you cant change picks on those and as such his entry is not perfect.
That is like letting us edit our posts after the game in the "PICK THE SCORE" threads and still believing we got the exact score correct.Comment -

#51Anybody who believes this kid probably also belives the touts who claim 95% winners.
Kid has Northern Iowa, Tennessee, Syracuse, Kansas State, Kentucky, West Va, Purdue, and Baylor in this round. He wont even get 6 of those right.
My over/under for how many of his 3rd rounders hit.

if you're serious, then you are one of the few who truly understands.
all these geniuses in here asking:
1) why isn't he killing all the sports books?
A: HES 17
2) why hasn't he had a perfect bracket before?
B: he said he has only started following basketball as of this year.
so much hatred on this site, it makes me almost regret ever posting anything.
80% of the posts on here are, "oh i'm insignificant so I'm gonna trash talk and belittle anything that doesn't fit into my value system. if I attack everything I can perceive myself as smart in the faces of others"
to the haters just here to diss: get a life, you're pathetic.
anyways I've said enough here. I regret wasting this much bandwidth on negative clowns.Comment -

#69yep 5 bucks lost on SYR tonight. Did anyone else see the push off to make it Butler by 6 late in the game? Not to mention that miracle bounce on the 3 when Butler was only up by 1. Good game though, and the bracket is crushedComment -

I'm sure he'll change his bracket tonight to have Butler advancing, but I don't think the NBC Chicago writer will fall for it a second time.[quote=jjgold;5683305]I win again like usual
