Week To Date - 13-11-1 (-3U)

I was having a solid afternoon and a pretty good night, but fired a 10U play on the Hoyas second half and well, we all know how that turned out. I'm still in shock that a 7-9 Mid American Conference team beat a solid Big East team, stunned by the effort of the Hoyas as well. Only down 3U heading into tomorrow and will get back on track after that second half play and already submitted my thread on my big play on Wofford but have a solid tennis play I like for Friday.

Friday's Play: Agnieszka Radwanska +100 8U

I know its March Madness and everyone's attention is on basketball but this is a play I cannot pass up and feel brings home the coin tomorrow.

Rad has an overall record of 10-3 on the hard courts in 2010 and has won 7 of her last 8 matches on the hard courts. In her previous tournament, she reached the semi finals before bailing out to Victoria Azarenka in straight sets. I expect this loss to Azarenka late in a tourney to prepare her and make her hungry for this semi final victory on Friday. As you can see with her performances in this tourney, she has responded in a big way from that semi final loss to Az, winning all of her matches in straight sets and not one of them even being competitive. She has won 47 games this tourney to only losing 18 against some solid competition in Elena, Marion, Gisela, and Anna. I have watched her last two matches and I have to say, I did not care for her much last year but this year she is by far playing her best tennis and I see no reason why she won't win today and also win the entire tournament; she's playing that good. In addition, to get her at even money all because of the name on the other side of the court, is alright with me.

Woz is 8-3 overall this year on the hard courts and is 5-2 in her last seven matches. Friday's semi final will be the furthest she has advanced this year, bailing out in third, fourth, and first rounds in her previous three tournaments this season. She has had to go the distance in 4 of her 11 matches this season, including 3 of 4 matches in this tournament; fatigue will play a role in this one. I will give her the benefit of the doubt with Zheng because she battles every point but IMO Petrova is as over rated as they come and King should never be able to compete with the top 20, so as you can tell I'm not liking Woz's current form one bit. Basically I feel she is not that mentally strong to begin with from watching her over the past year and now you bring into account the fatigue factor against a player that is at the top of her game and I just do not see how Woz can get it done in this spot. There are just too many factors pointing against her and I expect at the first sign of adversity, she will buckle.

Good luck in your college hoops wagers today but make sure to get down on this tennis play because I'm confident she gets it done in this spot.

WOFFORD Write-Up

WOFFORD TERRIERS +10

A quick note, the highest I go on any game is 10U and have only went above this once all season (successful win on Pitt at home earlier in the season) but Friday's play on Wofford is a 20U play because I'm pretty confident in it. Alright, just wanted to get that out of the way before breaking this match-up down.

Friday's Plays: Wofford +10 20U and Wofford ML +470 2U

I did see it at 10.5 at a couple of books but I booked this one early on in the week and I'm comfortable with the 10, but if you can get 10.5, that's even better.

WOFFORD

Offense

The 13th seeded Terriers enter this one with an overall mark of 26-8 and a combined road/neutral mark of 15-7, both solid numbers in my book. Overall the Terriers averaged 69 points per game this season on 44 percent shooting from the field, 35 percent from deep, and 67 percent from the line. Away from home, the Terriers averaged 67 points per game on 41 percent shooting, 34 percent from deep, and 71 percent from the line. These numbers may seem low to some, but keep in mind the kind of game this team plays and who their opposition is in this particular spot.

Defense

On the defensive side of the ball the Terriers allow an average of 62 points per game overall on 42 percent from the field, 31 percent from deep, and 68 percent from the line. Away from home, they allow an average of 62 points per game on 42 percent shooting, 30 percent from deep, and 68 percent from the line. Every number is identical except for the 1 percentage point difference in 3 point defense, now that's what I call consistency. I am a firm believer that it does not matter how many you score if you cannot play on the defensive end, this game is especially no different and will be won on the defensive end. I expect Wofford to take it to the Badgers and cause all kind of problems for an already sluggish offense and expose them for what they really are, an average Big 10 club. In addition, Wofford has held its last 3 opponents under the 60 point mark with defensive efforts of 51,58, and 47. The 51 and 58 in their last 2 outings are more impressive than the 47 because they shut down to high powered offenses in Western Carolina and Appalachian State. They made App. St. look like a high school team in the conference tournament championship game and I do not expect this club to back down in the least bit, I actually expect them to take it to the Badgers.

WISCONSIN

Offense

The 4th seeded Badgers enter this one with an overall mark of 23-8 and a combined road/neutral record of 7-7. That's the first deceiving fact, their overall record, we all know they are one of the best at home but as the away record shows, they are average at best. And I don't want to hear about the level of competition because the Big 10 is not that much better than this Southern Conference IMO and I strongly feel it will show in this match-up Friday. Alright, time for the offensive stats: the Badgers average 68 per game overall on 44 percent shooting from the field, 36 percent from deep, and 74 percent from the line. Away from home, the Badgers average 63 per game on 42 percent shooting from the field, 38 percent from deep, and 70 percent from the line. The Badgers do shoot well from deep at 38 percent on the road, but the Terriers defend at 30% so I'm liking my chances of the Badgers having a rough shooting day from outside the arc. The only benefit I will give them is that they shoot a descent percentage from the line and if the refs are whistle happy, they could get a few easy points from the line but the refs should let the kids play because after all, it is the ncaa tournament. I expect the Badgers to struggle on the offensive end and I'm leaning to the Terriers holding them under 60 points with their in your face D.

Defense

Overall the Badgers allow an average of 56 per game on 42 percent shooting from the field, 38 percent from deep, and 70 percent from the line. Away from home, they allow an average of 57 per game on 43 percent shooting from the field, 36 percent from deep, and 67 percent from the line. I'm not going to take anything away from the Badgers on the defensive end because they deserve credit for what they have accomplished on this end this season, but that's not to say they are not vulnerable in transition. Wofford's strong defense will lead to transition buckets IMO and I'm also confident in Wofford's offense in the half court when they can't get out and get easy buckets. The bottom line is that this should be a dog fight and the team to 60 wins this one, I'm banking on the Terriers to get it done.

Current Form

Wofford is coming off of 3 wins in route to winning the Southern Conference Tournament, won 10 straight overall and 16 of their past 17 overall; this team knows how to win.

Wisconsin enters this one off a 2nd round loss to Illinois in the Big 10 Tournament, where they went 0-1 overall after a 1st round bye. The Badgers are 5-3 overall in their past 8 games and just 3-4 on the road in their past 7 road contests, IMO they are not in the best form entering this tourney and are ripped for the picking.

Well that's it boys, I'm riding the hot Terriers catching the 10 and also taking a shot on them on the money line as well.

I had 1 other play this year over 10U (winner on Pitt at home early in the season) where me and 2 of my buddies had 50U total invested (20U of it mine) so this is only the second time all season I have gone above the 10U mark on a single play.
