I like St.Mary's in this situation as well even though they have lost to the zag's twice this season. Mary's is out for double revenge on a west coast conference tournament and play very well on the road 9-2 away and 8-3 ATS on those road wins. Neutral territory should not be a problem for this team. Being a ranked team the Zag's are I think we're getting some value on a +4 play. I might wait till game time to see if the lines don't favor SMC even more.Comment -
You just have to worry about Gonzaga caring about the game. Sometimes it's like they just don't give a damn. San Fransisco and Loyola Marymount ring a bell? I got nailed on both of those. If they get St. Marys down, they gotta step on that throat. Last night they were beating up on Loyola Marymount and then all of a sudden it was like a 6 point game before Gonzaga stepped it up again. They best not do that with St. Marys. I still see Gonzaga winning and covering.Comment -

public is all over gonzaga at this pt., id say its a good time to fade the public. at the same time looking at the matchup its easy to see y gonzaga has owned st marys over the years they jus have more athleticism on their squad n though st. marys is a very smart basketball team gonzaga plays at a high level too n thats where st. marys lose their edge, if they had a few more athletes they would have a better chance at this upset...look for the gaels to bring maximum effort 2nite n hopefully the game being in cali will help them out but the fact that gonzaga hasnt shown many weaknesses over the course of the season n down the stretch leads me to believe gonzaga will once again prevail though st. marys will pour their heart out to get this one...only chance for marys here is to get gonzagas veterans off the court with foul trouble. gonzaga ML is most likely the play.Comment -

All I know living in the Midwest and following the Big Ten is that Ben Allen is a starter on St. Mary's. Before Sampson totally ruined IU Ben Allen was the worst hands down player to ever start a game and get minutes at IU.

Not only good call Smackdown, but your logic was obviously very correct (in that Kenpom had them at 49% to win and they only needed to win 37% of the time to make it profitable). So once you pointed me to Kenpom, I jumped on board, got them at +175.

Congrats fellow Gaels backers! It's nice to have a hunch actually come through. Sometimes you can really sense when one team's desire/need/emotion/preparation is going to exceed the other's...
