Extended time off

Noticed that S Carolina and Auburn had 8 and 9 days off before losing (both SU/ATS depending on the SCar line) Monday night. Here are some teams with extended time off for Tuesday's games (more than 5 days):

UTEP - 6 (thought this would be lined but I was wrong)
LSU - off since 11/29
Riverside - off since 11/30

Might be worth keeping an eye on the next week or so.

Adding some info about finals:

Temple and Nova start finals this week
Santa Clara finished finals last week, and Riverside is on quarters
Both Tennessee and Tenn Tech finished last week
So Alabama finished last week, and Denver is on quarters
Memphis finished last week. Monmouth starts tomorrow.
Morehead finished last week. Not sure about EWU. They have quarters (no exams now) and semesters (this week)

Good info, HG. I notice the LSU layoff as I thought they were a bet vs. NC Central.
Still looking at it, but you are right that the layoffs had an effect last night.

More exam info:

Oregon finished last week. Montana starts tomorrow.
Clemson and SC St finished last week.
Central Arkansas finished last week. Michigan starts Friday (latest start I've seen FWIW)
NCCU finished on the 7th. LSU finished on the 10th.

During finals week the athletes are pulling all nighters, but I doubt they're studying before exams so it only matters if the game is the 1st game back after finals.

There's also not much (if any) practice time during finals. LSU might be in a tough spot tonight. Coming off finals, 2 weeks off, and students home for break.

I'm really just offering info and "talking out loud." I wouldn't advocate playing any side based solely on this stuff, but maybe it's enough to help someone confirm a play or lay off of something.

I have really been been focusing on totals only so far this season, but in playing those I have noticed some unexpected play over the last week that may have something to do with finals (really poor shooting and/or really bad defense and/or pace varying from normal).

This stuff is hard, if not impossible, to quantify, but it's stuff we should be aware of.

Definitely worth consideration. I used to see MSU Bball players getting hammered at the bars at end of semesters. Combine that with lack of practice and no surprise if they come out sluggish.

I remember many years ago, a gambling friend of mine would find out when schools would go home for Christmas break and if that school was playing a home game and the student body was gone, home court advantage was not as relevant as it would be at other times throughout the year, so he would play the visiting side. I never really got into that angle, but he seemed to do pretty good playing that angle.

Hey guys,

Just figured I'd throw this out for anyone looking for a play tonight. I live in Missoula and pay attention to the Montana Grizzlies basketball pretty intently. Try to go to most of the home games, and I have to say this may be the most defensively challenged team in the last few years. I wouldn't be surprised to see the GRIZ/ORE game tonight go over 160 tonight.

Both teams are explosive offensively and like to get out on the break and play fast. I tend to lean Montana +19 as our starting guard is actually a transfer from Oregon and I see him very motivated to play well. But the play of the day in my opinion is the over 140.5. I could see this one easily in the 160s even if Oregon accounts for 85 themselves which isn't out of the question.

Had a strong lean for Santa Clara tonight. I was hoping to see this line @ -5 or less. 6 points seems like a pretty sharp #. Doubt it will move down before tip but if it does it may be worth a small play..??
