Day 17: Results
Had a good night last night. I didn't watch too much of the early games because the leafs were playing, but that's pretty normal for me haha. UCLA was tied at half, but they really fell apart in the second, and Duke is not a very forgiving team to play against. I knew that was a risk I was taking when I made the bet. Clemson was a frustrating loss. There were a ton of missed opportunities that really kept Auburn in the game (missed free throws, missed slam dunk, stupid turnovers etc). That being said, If my team isn't gonna cover, and their a favorite, then I loves me an upset! Arkansas was a pretty epic cover, I didn't sweat that game too much. They were winning by almost 30 at the half, but UT martin played really respectable ball for the start of the second half....Shortly after it turned back in to a merciless blowout. I finally got the 2 unit win on the game of the night I've been after. I will probably start keeping secondary stats for 2 unit+ plays to see how they perform in comparison to regular plays.

I'm not in love with any of my picks today. There are 2-3 "points worth of value" on these games, but the deviation in the numbers is too high for my liking. Realistically, Indiana U probably shouldn't even be a play. There is no 2 unit play today, but If I had to single one game out as "the best" it would without a doubt be Georgia Southern +13.5.
Work was busy today, and I was very productive, but my line monitoring and handicapping suffered as a result (yes I do all my picks etc. while I'm on the clock...Shhhh don't tell the boss). THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE POSTS GUYS! It really helps keep me motivated, and knowing other people are watching makes me take a little more care when making picks.

If anyone wants to know my lean on a game, or which side of the spread I would be on if I had to choose a side, just ask...Come to think of it, I should start keeping track of my "lean record" for every game (without putting money on any of them). Last night I literally had my mouth wrapped around a bong, when I got a call from my buddy asking if I was coming to a formal Christmas party. I was invited to this thing weeks ago and completely forgot. Needless to say I did the quadruple S (shit, shower, shave, suit), and hustled over there. It was actually insane how drunk I got, I don't ever want to see egg nog again, that stuff sits heavy in the stomach. The Grease King is certainly staying greasy today. I missed so much value today it's not even funny. I would be 3-0 to start the day so far if I had done the handicapping before noon, and got my picks in on time for the early games. There are three more picks today. Went Christmas shopping all morning, then watched foosball all afternoon. The power is out from a bad storm, so me and some buddies live streamed from inside my car. That is actually where I am posting from right now. Contrary to popular belief, it does not take 2 months to shop for christmas. I got everyone a nice thoughtful gift, and it took under 5 hours total. Time to sit back with a beer and make a couple dollars in the NCAAB.

Big Mary choked hard last night. Otherwise it was a decent day. My record on big plays has gotten worse, I really think it's just been bad luck, not bad looking picks that I should have known better on.

I've got a 1 unit, non-thread, in-game bet going on Big mary to make up for what they did to me last night, even though I knew Hawaii on the moneyline pre-game was a decent play to make. Still, Big mary +130 on the moneyline in this game, I like it.

Harvard -8.5 is a GAMBLE. According to my calculations the line is 5-7 points off. This is probably too much, so I probably did something wrong. San Jose state is now +3.5, and has a good chance of going up to +4. If I wasn't being nagged to get off the computer, I would have paid a little more attention to line movement and waited. Harvard was a win, the winning margin was really close to what I calculated

It is officially the new year, and I have added a bunch of money to my pinnacle account, and I have put 200 dollars in to a few other offshore books. I keep missing half points on the spread, and taking slightly worse odds than available. I believe that I will be very comfortable and competent at shopping around, and waiting for line movement to favor my picks by the end of the season.
Time to eat my dinner, enjoy a cold beer, and then smoke a bowl at tip-off. Cheers guys
