Old Dom/Delaware Line Move?

Where will this line move? Old Dom seems to be playing better under new coach with a win and ot loss.

i'm personally hoping for a move down to take delaware. i think getting a new coach is only a short term bonus.

+8 seems like good value for ODU. Delaware has a knack for giving up a lot of offensive boards and their defense is bad.

ODU can win outright depending on what types of shots their offense takes. If they take a bunch of 3s and jump shots, they probably get blown out. If they drive to the hoop, they will have a much higher percentage of scoring/getting to the FT line and can keep it close.

So, it pretty much comes down to whether their offense plays like they did at Drexel (where they won big) or like they did against NE (where they went like 1/25 from 3 and lost).

They have been one of the best in the nation at grabbing offensive boards. Their defensive boards haven't been great because their defense has been so awful at times that they let teams shoot 50% and are only able to grab like 15 defensive boards.

I think there have been several games this year where ODU has had more offensive boards in a game than defensive boards...

Right right, forget to specify it was offensive they were beast at. I remember when I was in school there it was huge because we were ranked top 10 in the nation in grabbing offensive boards.

I'd normally agree with you Speedy, but be careful reading too much into the ODU line moves. They're a lot like the Bobcats -- books have to get creative sometimes to make it look like money is coming in on them. Hard to tell which moves are real vs. head fakes.

booked delaware at -8 for one unit, will put more down on -7 if it goes that way. delaware has beaten better teams at home by double digits. and odu has lost on the road to worse teams by double digits. my models say this line should be between 8-9 on a neutral floor, so I'm hoping the remaining effects of the coaching change are worth no more than home court is.

Delaware struggles against teams that can grab offensive boards. For Towson (2x) & @JMU, I think they got absolutely destroyed on the offensive glass and allowed them to get a ton of 2nd chance points.

Again, it all comes down to shot selection as to whether ODU covers or not.

I bet ODU +8.5 yesterday. I like the fact that this game is sandwiched between @ Mason & @NE, so this could be a game Delaware doesn't get up for.

ODU just needs to keep Delaware off the FT line. That is where they make teams pay.
