-400 System: Road to $10,000

Hey guys, I decided to start a new thread with a new unconventional system, and I will apply it to mostly college hoops, but I will also throw in some NBA games every once in awhile. Here is how it will work:

- I will only play favorites that are posted at -400 or higher (so -420 would work. -175 would not be used.)
- I start with $1,000 with the first bet, if it wins, I will drop down to betting $900 on the next bet, and will continue until I reach $500.
- When I reach $500, I will stop there and continue betting that amount on every game until I lose one. Then I will start back at $1,000.
- I will only use college basketball plays for the vast majority of bets, but like I said earlier, I will implement some college football and NBA plays every so often.
- I will post plays as soon as I can so tailers can get on them as well without rushing.
- I will try to make profit on each attempt and reach a profit level that sums up to $10,000. I will keep track of all my plays and money flows as I progress.


I know this isn't a conventional betting method, but you don't have to follow and I have money to use, so don't come in here saying I'm an idiot for trying this. I do no give a fukk.

Louisville Cardinals over Charleston Cougars @-540
Bet $1,000 to win $185.19




The Cardinals have only lost one game this season, and that was against Duke on the road, who might be the best team in college basketball right now. I think Chane Behanan will shutdown the Charleston's best player in Willis Hall, and leave the Cougars struggling on the offensive side of the court. Russ Smith and Peyton Siva should be able to score a decent amount of points amongst themselves as well. Good luck everyone.

(If Louisville wins) Minnesota Golden Gophers over South Dakota State Jackrabbits First Half @-550
Bet $900 to win $163.64




I placed this as the second leg of an "if" bet to the first game I posted, so this will take action if Louisville wins their game. Minnesota has also started off their season hot, also only losing to Duke. SDSU is 0-2 on the road to crap teams and are 0-7 all-time in first halves against Minnesota. Hopefully both of these bets cash so we can start making some money with group number 1 fairly quickly. Good luck guys!

Minnesota wins the first half by 24 with a score of 48-24. Andre Hollins scores 20 points in the half and the team shot over 64% from the field and 53% from three. If Louisville wins, we made a little money tonight.

2 easy wins to start the first group is always nice. Minnesota doubled-up the Jackrabbits on the first half 48-24 and the Golden Gophers destroyed the Cougars. I think Minnesota had 17 forced turnovers at halftime, so the defense of Rick Pitino's team was strong tonight and their offense was obviously enough to overpower the Cougars. With that said, we will call it a night and hopefully continue this trend tomorrow.

Pittsburgh Panthers over Duquesne Dukes First Half @-600
Bet $800 to win $133.33




Pittsburgh and Tray Woodall are looking great this season. As a Cincinnati Bearcats fan, I have seen Pitt play numerous times this year and they can pose problems for a lot of teams. With that said, a team like Duquesne will not be able to hang with this team for a whole half. In their past 9 meetings, the Panthers have won 7 of the first halves and many of them by double digits. Duquesne hasn't looked good at all this season and has lost to some pretty bad teams while Pitt has only lost at Michigan, a top-five team in the country. Good luck guys, and if this cashes, I have another play late tonight lined up.

Detroit looks very decent this year. I almost picked them for this system tonight until I looked into their matchup further. They're a team to look out for down the road and possibly early in the tournament.

Detroit has NBA talent in McCallum but havent been playing very well this year surprisingly. I ended up taking 1H in that game

Yes, I am staying at 5dimes. Tony isn't allowing me large parlays though, which isn't a big deal to me.

ChuckESleeze realized the bet size was $700 and not $800 like it's supposed to be, so I have laid another $100 to make it a total of $800 on the bet size and the total potential profit changes to $133.33.

I actually got the first half at a little better price with my added $100, but I will keep the odds and payout relevant to the initial bet size.

Alabama Crimson Tide over Dayton Flyers @-390
Bet $700 to win $179.49




Not much time for a write-up, but I had this and another game picked out this morning, but after looking into both, this one seemed like the better play. Alabama has played and beaten better teams than this Flyers team. Alabama is 6-1, with their only loss coming against a top-15 team in the Cincinnati Bearcats by 2. I don't expect a blowout here, but I do think the Tide roll to a decent margin of victory. Good luck with everyone's bets tonight.

That was actually the other game I had picked out, but I am scared of the Big East. I went to Cincinnati for 3 years before transferring schools and witnessed a lot of Big East basketball, and that South Florida team will give them a run without a doubt. Nash be the best player on the court, but I bet that game is a close one when it's all said and done. I got scared at the last second and switched.
