I thought Dirk took a week off because he was supposed to get into shape.

right when they announced Dirk was going to be out for a week their coach said as much:

hmmm dirk did look pretty banged up last night. I guess you could consider the fact that the Mavs are playing back to back. But even when Dirk was out the Mavs still picked up wins. These two teams looks like they're headed in opposite directions right now
