This line is kind of fishy. Atlanta is only -2.5? Weren't they just -6.5 in Detroit. Is NO really 4 points better than Detroit? Right now, 87% of the public is on ATL, and the line opened at -2.5 and has already gone down to -2. Looks like a trap for ATL backers.

Hornets have been a covering machine lately. I think they've covered in all of their last 5 games. NO has been very good to me the past couple weeks. Cashed big on them a couple of nights ago when they beat down the Magic.

You're right, NO are very good in their last home games.
93-67 against Orlando last friday, 102-104 against Spurs, 81-83 against Dallas and every time they were good ats.

Plus ATL are not so great ATS on the road. They are 1-4-1 in their last 6 games and 1-4 on the road against NO.

Just my 2 cents. Home dogs up until friday were hitting 17% for the prior seven days. The past 2 days they have gone 5-3 62.5%.
This will be freshh in the minds of public bettors that home dogs are biting. Considering NO has won SU and ATS last 3 times Hawks came to town. I believe if the books opened a higher line every joe blow would pound the Hawks. They only thing keeping people from pounding the Hawks is the questionable line. Opening at -3.5 and dropping to -2 is going to make it a no play for some and others take the Hornets. I believe thats just what the books want too.

Except as per Vegasinsider 91% of bets on hawks spread and 84% on hawks ml. So if the books are "trying too hard" and want people to over think it and take the hornets they are doing a TERRIBLE job. 90% of bettors don't over think things, they see a perceived good team is only -2 over a perceived bad team and hammer it.

Do you understand, that the majority of bettors are gamblers? If they see something, they bite. Atlanta -2 is the play any simple guy would want to bet. Why should bookies bother what would you or me think about their line. We are never profitable for them, they live because of donors like The Special One etc

What do you mean by "books are trying too hard?" Nearly the entire world is on the Hawks and the line has gone in the opposite direction. So either it is a trap, or Vegas wants to get hit hard on this game. I'm backing NOH here. I've backed them in all of their last 5 games in which they covered. Teague is out, so hopefully they falter a bit without him.
