Where will the Hornets be moving to?
    Maybe Vancouver...

Living in Vancouver, I'm excited about the prospect of the team coming here. The Aquilini group completely turned the Canucks around from a perennial loser into one of the best teams in the NHL in less than 5 years and GM Place (now Rogers Arena) is a prime venue in downtown Vancouver. Aquilini put interest forward in the past few years to try to buy the Blazers and Pacers to relocate them to Vancouver, so the Hornets are definitely a solid opportunity.

There's a lot of cities looking to acquire the Hornets and even though the league would prefer to keep them in New Orleans, I feel like it's a lot more likely that they'll leave. Investors representing other cities mentioned that are interested in buying the Hornets include Kansas City, Pittsburgh, Anaheim and Tampa/St. Petersburg.

    Come on Vancouver...

They should of never put that team in the NO. The league has to find a buyer, and I don't know about Vancouver, cuz it didn't work the first time. Wait until the Grizzlies are ready to move again.

          Newark, NJ

That would be too funny. I'd go to a game or 2.

I'm from Pittsburgh and would very much like a team. This city heavily supports winning teams, but doesn't care at all about bad teams. Lots of fair weather fans.

Right Demens. You'd get mopped up in Newark. Picturing you on Broad and Market getting stuck for your Shaqs is priceless.

Vancouver DID work in Vancouver... Vancouver had shit ownership...

Seattle without an Arena has no chance... vancouver has ALL the pieces in place, ESPECIALLY a solid ownership group...

Not to mention After the Shiet show on Memphis, you think the NBA doesn't feel BAD about moving them... Memphis has been an absolute JOKE of a franchise.... Not saying under that existing ownership Vancouver wouldn't have chased them out anyhow, but in this day and age its all about who can manage properly... not just having "fans" ... Everyone has fans... but it's about how you create TV markets and interest, and make money... WITHOUT a fan in the seats...

I.e the NFL could play in an empty stadium (Jacksonville anyone), and still make Billions...

I think a big move for Vancouver would be getting Steve Nash in his final year or two of his career...

I'm not going to get into an argument with you, but you would get absolutely torn apart on Broad and Market in 2011, let alone in the 90's. I refuse to believe you even know who Tame Wondah is.

Oh yeah, Demens. The best thing I saw in my week of absence was you arguing with Goat Milk about how the Nets were going to beat the Knicks, and how you wished Amare was playing so there would be no excuses. Then you watched while the Knicks without Amare tore the Nets up and had one of their best 3 pt pct games of the year. Pure comedy. I love it when your horrible elitist wanna be posts get exposed for what they truly are. I refuse to believe you're older than 12 years of age. So funny watching how off base you are in everything you post.

Lol, yeah sure thing. Market st in 2011 is the Murda Capitol of Newark.

I actually worked in Newark for the past 2 years. But its cool, if you're mormon or something we'll take a rain check on that drink. Or maybe you're just not old enough to get one? Either way, i'm sending off my buddy to Canada tonight so i might not have time for you but its likely i will be at one of the bars in the area.

                                EDIT:
Ahh darn it. You beat me to the underage joke. Ohh well, my offer still stands.

I can't see New York being a priority for another NBA franchise, or any California location either. Those markets are already saturated with existing franchises in the NBA, NFL, and NHL, so establishing a fan base would be more challenging. Ideally the NBA would want to move into a market in which they can expand the overall NBA fan base. Pittsburgh and KC seem like the most viable American options as both have facilities and large markets. Seattle will never happen without an arena, which would make it a much more expensive enterprise.

I really like Vancouver's chances to get an NBA franchise in the next 5-10 years. The Aquilini group are sharp guys with a proven track record of building a winning franchise in the Canucks after buying them from the Orca Bay group, and the financial holdings to back it up. They've already made 2 attempts to purchase a team that failed because the existing ownership groups were strong enough to hold on to them. And just as important as all the above reasons listed, David Stern has nothing but high praise for the Aquilinis.

For those raising the example of the Grizzlies failure as a reason Vancouver will not work, they were owned and operated by the same Orca Bay group that ran the Canucks into the ground until they were bought out. Orca Bay was incompetent, underfunded, and had no interest in the capital investment required to put a winning team on the court.

unfortunately they would have to be the one that travel back and forth 30 times a year compared to other teams that only have to deal with it 2-4 times
