Why the hell didn't Phil put Bynum in on that last inbound? Really can't help but think he would have been the difference maker in the paint last night, and easily could have prevented that tip in from Dyess. I was on the Spurs so I really don't care much, but it is curious to me, as he is one of the greatest coaches ever, and I truly think this was a mistake.
I haven't seen this addressed yet: Yes another Spurs/Lakers thread...

#2Yeah, but the Lakers just happen to be in that position last night with a few key shots. The Spurs should have won by about 5, instead of 1... And I'm sure the Lakers would take that play over and over again, mcdyess was just in the right place at the right time. You can't really plan for a lucky tip...Comment -

#6The last 11.8 seconds of that game stunk all the way to high heaven if you ask me. The only logic I can see is the Spurs was just "meant to win" that game.Comment -

#9The only thing I heard an announcer say was "I'd imagine they're going to put Bynum in now", prior to the inbound at 4.6 left. Then when they didn't, I was completely shocked. Maybe they felt like they needed speed to protect the perimeter, but I honestly feel that was a mistake, and protecting penetration and 2nd chance points in the paint was way more important. It's not like they will turn completely inept at guarding the perim without Ron out there or whoever they chose to sub out. Personally feel like Fisher, Kobe, Odom, Gasol, Bynum, would have been the ideal 5 to have out there for that last sequence.Comment
