interesting side note: The original 'Magi' (pronounced like Madge-eye) were an educated class of priests. Though the term spread from the Three Wise Men from the Bible, that followed the star on the Eve of Christ's birth). These individuals were referred to as 'The Magi'.

The Celtics, (highest FG% in NBA) sky-high on a huge win over the Lakers (13 pt margin ) carry the momentum into the next game. The Kings have been playing markedly improved ball, yet are far less talented than their Boston counterparts in this matchup. As well, Tyreke Evans is out for SAC. Still, keep your eye on young Cousins; he is growing exponentially.

Portland.. +1.5 (1st Quarter) Two losing streaks meet tonight in Portland. San Antonio has lost four (4) in a row in Portland, and the Blazers have dropped their last two at home. When these two team meet, the name of the game is defense, as neither has cracked 100 pts. in their last 5 meetings.

Portland is looking to score 100, and will make a concerted effort to improve on 38% FG shooting that they put up against the Celtics in an 88-78 loss. Losing 3 straight at home, against Portland's great fans is too much to ask. Even with the best record in the NBA, Portland pride cuts the line ahead of the Spurs– and the pick is the Blazers.

The Hawks look to win their sixth straight home game in the series Wednesday night as the Raptors try to avoid their first 13-game losing streak in nine seasons. Atlanta (30-18) still managed to win its third in a row over the Raptors.

Toronto is going to end an eight-game road losing streak, the club will likely need a better effort from its top two scorers.
Andrea Bargnani, averaging a team-best 21.1 points, is scoring 16.7 per game and shooting 27.4 percent in the last three. DeMar DeRozan is averaging 9.0 points over that stretch, 6.4 fewer than his season average.

The Hawks, winners of 12 of 14 at home, are looking to bounce back from a 102-91 loss at Dallas on Saturday. Atlanta was outscored 14-1 in the first five-plus minutes of the fourth quarter and missed 11 of 15 shots in the period. Atlanta has won nine of the last 11 meetings and will try to sweep the season series for the first time since 1998-99.

The Philadelphia 76ers have won four of five and are coming off an impressive bounce-back victory, the 76ers try to record rare back-to-back road wins Wednesday night as they seek a seventh straight victory over the improving New Jersey Nets, who have lost once in their last six at the Prudential Center.

The 76ers have gone 14-4 in their last 18, but they haven't been able to solve their season-long road woes. The Sixers have won back-to-back contests once in their last 39 road games. They've won six straight against the Nets overall -New Jersey's recent resurgence has plenty to do with the offensive revival of Lopez. The third-year center averaged 11.0 points in his first four January games, but scored 24.7 over his final 11. Lopez has averaged 19.3 points in the six consecutive losses to the Sixers.

The Phoenix Suns lost a third straight game upon returning from a five-game road trip, but they've recovered with impressive victories over two of the league's hottest teams.
The Suns have beaten the Milwaukee Bucks 22 straight times in Phoenix, an astounding streak they might not have trouble extending Wednesday night if Bucks center Andrew Bogut can't play. They held Boston to 34.2 percent shooting in an 88-71 win Friday, then handed New Orleans its second loss in 12 games with a 104-102 victory Sunday.

The emergence of Marcin Gortat has certainly helped. Gortat chipped in occasionally but was hardly dominant in his first 12 games with the Suns after coming over from Orlando, but he has five double-doubles in his last seven games. The Suns' 7-3 record since Feb. 12 is impressive, but it shouldn't take much to intimidate Milwaukee. The Bucks (19-27) haven't won in Phoenix since Feb. 21, 1987, surrendering an average of 113.7 points.

No revenge for Chicago. Los Angeles Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro made it clear that his December victory over the Chicago Bulls was more than just another win after being fired by the team in May. Another victory over his former club might make for an even greater accomplishment.

The Clippers shoot for the franchise's longest home winning streak in 35 years Wednesday night when they face the Central Division-leading Bulls, winners of five straight.
Blake Griffin had 32 points and 11 rebounds Monday to help Los Angeles (19-28) beat Milwaukee 105-98 for its ninth straight victory at Staples Center. The big man is averaging 27.7 points and 13.3 rebounds during the home streak. Leading scorer Eric Gordon missed his fourth straight game due to a right wrist injury, but Randy Foye has proved to be a suitable replacement. The guard scored 20 points against the Bucks and is averaging 19.0 in Gordon's absence.

Los Angeles, averaging 109.1 points during its run at home, embarks on an 11-game road trip following Wednesday's contest. The Clippers have won three straight against the Bulls (33-14), taking the most recent matchup 100-99 on Dec. 18 in Chicago. Los Angeles entered that contest with a 6-21 record and a four-game losing streak, but the win began its current 13-7 stretch.

Heat played a great game in OKC, especially late. There is some revenge factor for Orlando,
but that was some time ago, and was before the trade, so not everyone felt the sting.
ORL lost to Memphis last game, Heat are much better (and HOTTER than Grizzlies).

Difficult to imagine Spurs fading twice in a row, considering how good they are on road.
LA is so full of question marks.. Hard to take LA, when they routinely fail to show up.
LA has to be at their very best to get past SPURS.. LA is clearly NOT at it's very best.

Milwaukee Bucks.. +7 >> (5X)<Winner>
It seems that Golden State is going to have a terrible game, and that the Bucks
will make it out with a win after that difficult loss to Clippers. Compound that
with a nice 7 pt. cushion and you have the "Play of the Day".

i always said it you win by a single bucket, you were lucky– not smart.
(Milwaukee/GSW) i hedged the Bucks bet with the LARGE Spurs bet..
thinking that the Bucks would lose by 7+.. and they almost did!

but made it out of dodge without getting shot and they both came in.
The real pick was SAS/LA UNDER 194, that one came in by largest margin

But Dirk is hobbled, and Celtics kill at home.
