How Boston might be different than most of the 150 teams who lost when down 0-3

how many of those 150 had the second best record in their conference?
how many of them were #2 seeds in their conference?
how many had a roster from top to bottom who made the finals the year before?

    probably None.

Of course Boston is different. Most of those teams that went down 3-0 were underdogs

    There's a reason Boston was only +800 down 3-0

With all that said, I'm not sure they come back. Will have to think it over

Just because they made the Finals last year and the only difference this year is a coach not as good as Udoka, and they added Brogdon? Common man, what's better? Bring something else to the table other than getting flattened by a Warriors team that they should've beat if they were this good. Who did the Warriors lose from last year that got them smacked in the mouth by the Lakers?

And I think Brogdon is a sneaky good player that goes unnoticed for the most part.

Multiple things hurt the warriors this year.

Dray punching Jordan in preseason fractured the locker room.

Steph missed more games than any other year.

Higgins dad hot sick and he left the team at the worst time, dtopping them to a 6th seed.

They were exhausted after their 6th finals run in 8 seasons. Winning 4 and runner up twice.

The celtics are much younger and fresher than GS. and very hungry for a chip.

If they come back and win I will give you and Johnny V credit and tip my hat and eat my hat. I 100% think the record will be broken at some point and I even agree this might be the best situation in a very long time where it could happen. I think the spread is irrelevant in this situation, but I would be shocked if Spoelstra got beat after being up 3-0 and be that coach that this happened too with no major player injuries from start of series, etc.

This is all I'll say. If Miami loses G5 tomorrow night in boston, they had better win G6 on sat nite in south beach.

Out of the 150 teams who went down 0-3 never to come back, I'll guess 10-15% were the higher seeded team who started 0-2 at home, so games 5 and 7 are at their crib. Boston is likely one of the most talented teams in history to go down 0-3. Plus, they just made the finals LY. how many of those 150 teams fit this profile ?

They clearly play much better w their backs against the wall (see Sixers gm 6 and 7 and heat g4) so all I can say is that if there was ever a team to come back from 0-3, this here is it.

16s never beat 1s for 35 years in the NCAA tourney then it happened twice in 3 years.

Look out. That's all I'm saying.

Books don't give odds like the old days.

When James was down 3-1 in the finals, he was +1500 to win it all.

the heat will play better knowing they can't let the celtics continue to gain momentum and belief ... and when all those role players go off from 3 land to help butler and bam again in a game it's over

heat play better when they are perceived as the underdog who "can't win" and after winning 2 on the road in comebacks and then running boston off the court at in a return to home they just went into a cold spell which was overdue and flat lined pretty much. the celtics let it get to 5 in the 4th early and called an appropriate timeout and came out of it and got 2 buckets from tatum and brown, which is who you go to in those moments and it ended any threat of another heat 4th q comeback. i was watching to see if boston came out of that timeout and ended up with a role player shooting a dumb fuk 3 for a brick instead of getting the ball to their best players and correct the spacing

boston will have life if they win game 5 but if they just barely scrape it out... lookout for the Heat in game 6 at home to go into ALL OUT mode which we've seen them do constantly in these playoffs

i am placing 1 unit on boston first half spread. no other plays after that. discipline

If we want to speak on logic alone... if you're up 3-0 in the Conference Finals... and you lose 4 straight... you don't deserve to be in the Finals... Period. I've got no problem with Boston being there if they won 4 straight. It means Miami wasn't good enough to begin with and Butler was worn out.

I just wonder where the PUBLIC money would be on in Game 6? Also, opening line. It would be very interesting.

Still feel like Coach Joe will mess this up.

Shoddy analysis, as ever. Warriors lost because they weren't v.good. They missed Porter/ Iguodala/ Bjelica. No depth this year. You fall for all that media driven analysis/ bullshit.

Wait you don't think "Higgins dad hot" is sound analysis?

How are the players supposed to concentrate with Higgins' hot dad hanging out courtside?
